Edward Ciderhands; everybody tapes two 2 litre bottles of cider to their hands, rendering their limbs useless other than to drink :) you can only remove the bottles once both have been consumed, anyone who manages it attains winners status and earns your respect. Anyone who doesn't finish before removing their bottles loses and will face a forfeit of your choice.

Haha, harsh one! There was a drinking game I saw at a festival where there's a bottle in between two groups of people, and you take it in turns to throw something knock the bottle over. If you knock the bottle over then you and your team have to drink, until a member from the other team has stood the bottle back up and are back in formation with their team. The first team to finish their cans wins :) we played this at Rock am Ring, muscled in on the game in order to make new friends! The bigger the group, the more fun it is.

A good festival one, or just generally is Boat Race... pretty easy to follow, you have two teams, equal amount of players on each.. try and make the teams relatively equal on drinking abilities to make it more intense ;) Both teams start at one end and the next person on each team can't start drinking until the person before them on their team has finished, then the person at the end of the line does two of whatever drink it is, and it goes back down the line to the person who started it, and the first team back wins :)

*try and have everyone drinking the same drink*

The numbers game.

Rules are you count from 1 to 21, using the opposite hand you tap your shoulder, whatever shoulder you tap dictates the direction of play.

7 you put both hands horizontal, top hand dictates direction

14, same thing but bottom hand

10 you point.

When 21 is reached the person must immediately down their drink and add another rule to make the game more difficult.

Any time someone f**ks up or hesitates, drink, and it restarts from them.

Bus driver.

Shuffle the deck, bus driver deals, bus rider has to guess higher or lower than 7, black or red, higher or lower, black or red. Every time you get it wrong you drink a finger. You cannot leave the bus til you get 4 in a row right, chunder or pass out.

A mate last year played this in the morning, by 11am on the thursday he crawled into my tent and passed out for a solid day.

The bitch.

Get a dirty pint. Must be played in posh english accents. Can be played by as many people as you like

Person A passes the pint to person B

Person A "Heres the bitch"

Person B "The what?"

Person A "The bitch"

Person B "Ahh the bitch"

Person B passes to person c

Person B "Heres the bitch"

Person C to person B "The what?"

Person B to Person A "The what?"

Person A to B "The bitch"

B to C "The bitch"

Person C "Ahhh the bitch"

and so on, until someone f**ks up, then they have to down the pint (or you can play womans rules and just do a sip)

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
