Review from a first-timer

My first Glasto and I turn 24 next year - went to Reading last year and, although the bands were ace, the general atmosphere totally spoiled it on the Sunday, so I can safely say Glasto was nowt like Reading this year.

Have a read of my review here, and I hope enthusiasm from a first-timer makes everyone realise this fest is the BEES - I'm just jealous I haven't gotten to go the last few years.

My first was in 07 and I love love loved it! I figured if I could survive that amount of rain and mud anything else would be ok - the weathers gotten better ever since and each year has been amazing.

I've considered going into teaching but the thought of being unable to go to Glastonbury puts me right off - sorry kids! Cannot wait till 2011, so glad it's not the fallow year it was meant to be :D

P.S Love the review and the image of dancing with men in "tiger skin" underpants drinking mulled wine :P

Glad you had a great time. Would have been surprised if you hadn't as there's something for everyone at Glasto.

I've met about half a dozen people since Glasto who were also there and we've had the same "who did you see?" conversations and you'd think they'd all been to totally different festivals.

I don't think I saw any of the bands on your list but I had a superb time.

Thanks guys. It was a joy to write and, because I didn't get a press pass, I needn't have written anything - but I was so overwhelmed by it all that I felt I needed to write something down, if just for the sake of my own memories. Not all festivals have that impact.

    • Very probable. I was a bit surprised by the crowd I saw in the video they drew, and I say that as a big feeder fan. I thought they’d draw a really good sized crowd but it looked rows deep. Chuffed for them though. Still think they’re a great band after all these years.  Rumours at they’re doing a Polythene tour next year too.
    • It sounds like Feeder drew a crowd too big for that stage originally. Given the time period they haven’t appeared at Download as well it's a nostalgia thing. Halestorm vs Feeder wasn't the most ideal but leaving after either to get out would have been sweet at least.
    • You cant see everything unfortunately, it would be Halsey there for me 100%, the last 20/25 of Gorillaz. Halsey would be my non negotiable act on that day myself. Oddly Bleech 9:3 would actually give me an option I wouldn't mind between 3:15pm and Halsey. Dogstar would only likely be a 10 minutes thing of I've seen Keanu lol.
    • I think the tent was just right for Feeder, on that day anyway.   If you had a Biffy-esque day again, or someone of that ilk (maybe Pearl Jam for example), whack them on that main stage. 100%.    As it is, I think feeder will be back and probably high up the second stage or main stage next year or 2028.
    • I think we still have 2 acts to announce each day, maybe one more big name to complete the lineup?   Perhaps the big name is Turnstile on Thursday, which isn't sold out yet. And some other names that could be added like Iceage, Band of Horses or Tomora.
