Unlike Reading, Leeds main stage opens at 5pm on the thursday for a few smaller maybe unsigned bands for people to watch. Its mainly used to get rid of any glithes and problems. Im not sure if much else goes on because ive only gone to main stage and then back to the tent to sleep, preparing for the 3 whole days of music and madness!

Wednesday night there are campsite DJs dotted around the campsite where you can book in advance and do a short set.

Thursday, there's bands on the BBC Introducing stage, last year Blood Red Shoes played and the year before it was The Pigeon Detectives.

Late night entertainment on the Thursday includes,

Campsite DJs.

Oxfam tent - plays a good mix of music, normally open till 3am I think.

Relentless tent - A massive tent that plays dance music and has DJ sets from some decent names, Pendulum DJ there last year, it's open til 3am or 4am.

Piccadilly Party - Like the best Indie Disco ever with a mix of everything including Dance, Rock, Indie etc... it finishes at 6am! :D

Hey, i'm new to this forum and this year will be my first Leeds :) going down on the Thursday. The 'Piccadilly Party' sounds really good, does anyone know where abouts on the site it is and whether you have to be over 18 or anything to go? Cheers.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
