iPhone Battery Saving Tips...

Sorry for another new thread, but alas.

Here are a few tips for things for everyone to do to try and add at least an hour to the time their iPhone will keep it's charge for - then with the Ted Baker charger we might actually get through the festival with a phone when we need it...

1. Turn off Wi-Fi - Settings Wi-Fi is second option down on 3gs

2. Turn off Bluetooth - Settings - General - Bluetooth

3. Change your email to manually fetch new messages instead of having emails pushed onto your phone - then update as and when you want to.

4. Turn off location servies - again in Settings - General

5. Lower the brightness

6. Don't play games when you should be at a festival

7. Turn it off when you don't want to use it.

Anyone got any more suggestions?

I'll probably switch it on once a day for about 5 or 10 minutes to check messages and world cup scores apart from that it will remain off for the duration of the festival. Don't normally use a phone much at Glastonbury, theres just too much stuff to see and do :D

Best tip is to forget the iphone and buy a £10 nokia which will last the whole week without a charge!

Thats what i'm doing - Leaving my HTC desire at home

I can live without facebook/twitter for a week (Although Orange chill and charge will have terminals to surf if your desperate)

I won't mind loosing a £10.00 phone, but £400 quid phone would be gutting

As Brian clough famously said 'think on young man!'

Turning off the phone sounds great on principle but I need my emails for limited work replies on Thursday / Friday and also to sign up for Arcade Fire tickets.

Sat and Sunday I'll be more sparse with it's use but will use it for football / tennis scores and finding different groups of friends plus maybe help working out who secret guests are.

Plus I have a two year old daughter who will be staying at home, and I want to be contactable.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
