a bad omen for muse?

now i'll be the first to admit i can be bit superstitious at the best of times but something that happened this morning has got me slightly concerned about the muse headline slot... half past six this morning i was woken up by a fairly loud tapping sound, looking around the room all bleary eyed i saw what was making the noise... a bloody big magpie had came in through my bedroom window and was sat on a pile of cds pecking away at the top one! knowing that if i tried to scare it away it would probably go mental flying round the room and shit over everything so all i could do was watch it, by this time it had noticed me and was alternating between pecking at the cd case and looking at me! now this went on for a good five minutes before it calmly hopped down off the stack of cds and strolled out onto the windowsill before flying off. i decided i better get up and shut the window incase it decided to come back again and i noticed the cd it had been so interested in was absolution by muse! so now im wondering if he was telling me to go see muse or that something unlucky is going to happen during their performance?? i now have an image in my head of the muse ufo bursting into flames and wiping out half the pyramid crowd! :O or them just playing the last album all the way through!

sorry about the crappy photo but it was taken on my phone when i was still about ninety percent asleep but it does show how little the window was open and how determined he was to get at that muse cd!

Hahahahahhaha ! I have a soloution.

We will ask the wurzels to change the lyrics of one of there greatest songs, from blackbird , to magpie.

'Well I sees he , and he sees I !

Buggered if I don't ave he !

With a gurt big stick I'll knock Im down !

MAGPIE I'll have he !'

the wurzels will protect us!!!

    • After the sad news of William Orbits passing -   the production on this album is magnificent, especially as it was a risky departure sound wise from Blurs previous album   To me - my favourite Blur album - Strange News, Death Of A Party & Essex Dogs are under appreciated gems
    • RIP William Orbit.... https://youtu.be/eVdR2RfXGUw?is=TgwCLV2USTDSTVru
    • While i whole heartedly agree with both these statements on a personal preference level -     ive come to reluctantly accept that bland is always popular and il normally just show myself to the other stages where the better times are to be had during the Pyramid headliner slots.
    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
