With most of the car parks now converted to caravan/campervan fields on the east side blue route im wondering if the hike with camping gear etc will be twice as bad, especially with the hill of death involved.

What are the other entrances like?

Im looking for an easy/shortest route from the car park to the campsite.

I dont mind trying a new place to camp this year. We aim to be coming from the North at 7am Wednesday morning

In my experience, you just can't predict or control how far you are from a gate. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

Best advice is to plan to make one trip only by taking as little as possible and the use of a sack truck.

I have a decent sack truck with inflatable tyres but when loaded up with all the camping gear and a few beers gets very heavy to pull up hill.

I need to take it easy to a degree as i currently have a hernia.... which is nice

I asked a very similar question and didn't get much of a reply - only one who said they always camped in the East until this year but now they're planning to switch.

I'm a bit concerned about it!

Yes i will reroute to come in on the White route and hopefully a car park monkey will let me park as near the gate as possible. I dont mind the gentle miles of hiking while on site.

It should make for a very different experience this time as ive come in gate C and camped in Kidney mead 4 times.

If you need to take it easy then do - just take tent, few clothes and beers for the first day - and do a second trip the next. With less stuff you can over take all those struggling along and get set up all the faster and more comfortably!

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
