I know there has been threads about this before, I have used the search and can never get a result list of less than a 1000... so please no berating. Although a link would be appreciated if someone finds one.

This weekend I am off to Glastonbury village to do some of the touristy things I never get to do whilst at the festival. People have put on here previously about visiting the site/ the farm when the festival is not being held.

I was just wondering if anyone has any info about where you can/can’t go, if there are any public footpaths through, where you can enter the site (without security in high vis jackets I’ll be at a loss).

If anyone has any other useful info, or anywhere they recommend going that would be great.

Cheers.

I went there 2 weeks ago for a look around (photos getting developed next week). We wandered for a few hours going past the pyramid, up to the stone circle and back through the green fields. I know that there are official public footpaths through the site but without an OS map of the area it wasn't clear where these were. As long as you are quiet and respectful you will be fine, at least we were.

Been there a few times outside festival time and never had any probs, I've rarely encountered anyone when walking around and the few farm workers I've seen about didn't seem bothered. The site looks totally different without all those tents, fences and stages and it's easy to get a bit lost. The only bits that I find easily recognisable are the pyramid skeleton and the sacred space. Nice farm on a sunny day.

I got permission to go, and went in January. Took loads of pictures which are on my Flickr site, Met ME who knew who I was, due to me asking to look round, who introduced himself to my folks, and said have a lovely time! All the farmers etc were very friendly, all stopped and spoke to us. It was a great day out. I had to report in and out so they knew we were no longer on site.

If you do go, respect the land, and stick to the footpaths.

You can wonder around freely, possible one or two small areas will be off limits with animals in them but that's not a problem.

I was there less than two weeks ago, weather was amazing as you can see below :P if the site would allow me to post it!
