Incompetent Natwest may have cost me my ticket.

Lets set the scene, it's 9:30 AM last friday and i'm merrily dreaming away of all things pyramid only to get rudely awoken by the Natwest fraud department. Apparantly somebody is trying to use my card fraudulently so they tell me they'll cancel it and send me a new one. Be with me in seven Days they tell me.

So there i am, thinking, thats a bit of a S****er but not that big a deal, i'll just pay off my ticket when my new card arrives. No problemo. So i go into my local branch (conveniently situated on my uni campus) to get some cash out to live off for a week, they confirm to me my card has been ordered and will be there the next (last) week.

Go in to collect it today so i can pay off the blance of my ticket only to find it's not there. In fact, the lovely cashier tells me, it hasn't even been ordered yet. Great. She orders it. When will it be here I ask of her. Minimum 7 days. Check the date, it's the 22nd, 22+7=29. oh dear, dealine= 28th, sunday as well. I point this out to her and ask her what she expects me to do, as it's their fault somebody cocked up my card and as a result rendering me unable to pay for my ticket. "Nothing we can do sir, sorry".

Marvelous, bloody brilliant. So, unless i can pay in somebody elses name, which i assume i must be able to, so long as the balance is paid, AND mummy and daddy pink will loan me the money, i can't go this year.

livid.

found this bit of info for you it might help.

PAYMENT INFORMATION & SMALL PRINT

Tickets will be available online at www.seetickets.com or by telephone. The UK ticket sales line is 0844 412 4635. Call charges will vary, according to your service provider. UK sales will not be accepted on the International Ticket Sales Line, or any other Seetickets telephone lines.

If you pay a deposit for more than one ticket you will have the option either to pay the balance collectively or individually. Balance payments can be made from additional cards at a later date, however each ticket for which the balance is settled separately will be processed as a single booking and will therefore be subject to £4.95 postage per individual transaction.

It is your responsibility to remember to pay your balance. Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid by February 28th 2010 will be refunded £40. A £10 administration fee will be retained.

Tickets purchased after February 28th 2010 must be paid for in full at point of booking.

Payment by card for UK sales (both online and by telephone) will be by the following debit cards only - Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Switch/Maestro Domestic and Solo. Credit cards will not be accepted for UK sales. For the purpose of ticket sales the UK includes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

Debit card sales will be processed immediately in most cases and certainly within five working days of the sale being confirmed. Cheques will be banked as soon as they are received. Personal cheques are not accepted. For the avoidance of doubt please check your bank/card statement following your transaction/s to be certain whether or not your payment has been successful, or contact Seetickets.

When purchasing by telephone you will be told your booking reference number. Please write down the reference number and keep it safe. It is confirmation of your purchase which you may need.

Postal orders and cheques raised by either a building society or a bank (as a Bankers Draft) will also be accepted as payment on the telephone ticket line. Please note personal cheques cannot be accepted. Orders will not be accepted by fax, email or personal callers.

When you confirm your order you will be given a booking reference number. Cheques or postal orders, together with that reference number, must be received by the ticket agency within five working days of the sale. The address of the ticket agency is: Seetickets, P.O. Box 9091 , NOTTINGHAM, NG1 9DA.

Cheques must be made out by the bank or building society to Glastonbury Festival 2010 Ltd.

maybe worth giving seetickets just to be safe. But that reads like cheques are allowed as long as they are done by the bank and not handwritten.

A Bit of extra info that might help (i've worked in a bank before, a few years ago but things don't change that much).

The 'Bankers Drafts' that they refer to are cheques made by the bank themselves (rather than directly from your account). They can write one for you, but usually charge a fee for this (have known everything from £10-30 for this) although i would be surprised if (if you ask them) they wouldn't waive this fee (considering what's happened). Also bear in mind dates for this to be posted through, may be worth a call to See to check whether there's enough time.

Another option (although this isn't mentioned in the T&C's stated above) may be that See would allow a direct bank transfer from your account to theirs, again, call them and ask about this. They would then give you some account details to send a payment to, then arrange this payment to be made with your bank. Again, different types of bank transfer take varying amounts of time to get through to them, check with See & your bank to make sure this would get through in time.
