getting me quite down reading this thread, i adore him, so desperate to see him, suppose i'll make my own review if i ever get to see him

i have seen an interview when he said that glasto greatly underpays but i'm gonna ignore the slagging he has got here and keep my fingers crossed

God no, please don't let this happen. One of the biggest disappointments live, ever! He is an awesome guitarist and I love his music but, he is as dull as dish water live. Saw him on the Pyramid stage a couple of years back (2007 I think!) and I was bored shitless!

I'd be pretty certain he WILL do Glasto next year :P

I recently read elsewhere that he has announced dates for June next year.

Correct. I enjoyed seeing The Jam though. The first time I saw them was at the Red Lion in Hammersmith. I'd gone to see Johnny Thunders Heartbreakers, who didn't show up, so there was this other, new band, The Jam. His support for the monarchy and the conservatives wasn't particularly endearing... I know he went on the Red Wedge tour supporting Labour, but by then he'd lost any credibility for me. I have no problem with people liking him... (good of me, eh.... :P )

But the whole mod revival was dated from the word go. Originally it was based on current French and Italian fashion... it was 'modern', and grew from the Beatnik movement from the late 50's/early 60's... it was current and relevant

I lived in Brighton when the fights between the mods and rockers were happening on the beach every Bank Holiday... it was stupid then.

The point to Quadrophenia is that it's what you, as an individual, are.

I know...

I totally see how exciting it must have been the first time round, but things move on....

      Yeah, shambles if so.   Also a shame for the festival if it's that rather than money.    Sure more will come out in due course. I was (and still am) hoping she'd do it, selfishly.

      Interesting that'd be the reason - given that there were reports citing that as the reason a few years ago as well.   You'd think that they (meaning both sides) would learn..

      Hope they skip the fireworks and the burning of the man this year tbh, seemed dodgy last year with all the reports of embers and this year is drier. Don't want to be a killjoy but it's only a big bonfire at the end of the day.    May also need extra care with BBQ and gas stoves etc, always worries me slightly in the campervan field where vans are very very close together!    Not had campervan pass in the mail yet either.   Looking forward to the beer festival and enjoying a few pints while taking in some mellow tunes in the walled garden if the sun carries on shining like this 😎
