Subscribing to topics?

I know you can subscribe to a whole forum, but I thought you could just subscribe to a single thread? I want to subscribe to the Beleavis thread but cant work out how?

I'd guess that the "subscribe to the forum" option that's available from the 'Options' button when in a thread (as opposed to when in a forum) is actually mean to read "subscribe to this topic".

That didn't work, I just ended up subscribed to the Glastonbury Chat forum.

FYI: I'm still looking into this.

The option to subscribe to topics exists in the default skin, but for some reason isn't present in the custom skin that's used. I'm currently trying to track down where the differences are between the skins that make a call to the subscribe to topic function.

Hopefully I'll have the answer soonish.

I've discovered that the option does exist, but it's obscured by the 'Display Modes' label which should be half-way down the menu. Which is why we couldn't find it. Doh!

All I've got to do now is try and work out how come that label is in the wrong place, which sounds easy but is doing my head in. Strangely, it's right in the original version of this custom efests skin.

You might have to force a full refresh by using Ctrl-F5 for the corrected version to show.

Why should I subscribe to a thread?

What are the benefits of doing so?

Ive thought about subscribing to threads but often had these questions. When Im on I just look to see whats going on at that moment in time.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

subscribing to a thread has these forums send you an email if/when there's a new post made in that thread.
