Coming from Glasgow, so a journey of 400 miles or so.

We'll probably train it to Bristol, stay there on the Tuesday night then head to the festival first thing on Wednesday.

The coach doesn't appeal at all.

It’ll have to be car for me and my friends, there are 5 of us (all Glastonbury virgins) are coming down from Stockton on Tees with all our stuff and not being funny but getting anywhere from Stockton without a car is a nightmare (even over the river to Middlesbrough) so there is no way I’m going to risk public transport carrying everything for that journey.

Were actually looking at hiring something like an estate car or something along the lines of a Nissan X-Trail so it’ll be big enough to carry all of us and our stuff without having to bring 2 cars. Has anyone done this?

Think it's gonna be car this year. Flew from Glasgow to Bristol last year but this year I'll be driving 3 of us down so our costs and emissions will be reasonably in hand. Plus it'll allow me to take more cooking lager and less spirits meaning less chance of a repeat of Friday last year when I solced the Neil Young/Doves/ Ray Davies/Q-Tip dilemma by not seeing any, falling over and puking for an hour.....:(:)

Train from Doncaster, will go via Taunton next year rather than through London during Wednesday morning rush hour I think. Should still be on site by lunchtime, shuttle buses & traffic allowing.

I've updated the info on the National Rail Enquiries website for travel to/from Glasto if anybody is thinking about it. Prices, times & tickets won't be available until early-April.

Fly from Belfast and then get a taxi to the festival and come home on the first flight on the monday so we'll get the taxi back to the airport about 5. Had thought about getting the bus from the airport last year but it was a long bus journey and in the end the taxi was probably cheaper.
