I've been to about 6 Creamfields over the years and just went on Saturday for the day and it was absolutely terrible, probably the worst festival I've ever been to. Having said that the line up was not the best I've ever seen anyway and I only decided to go at the last minute as mates were heading down.

They just had too many people and not enough DJ's. Got there about 6ish so went and saw Hernan Cattaneo who was ace. Pete Tong came on and I admit I'm not his biggest fan. Tiesto on the other hand I love so went over to the main stage, sound was crap and it was too rammed and I thought he was playing stuff that wouldn't have sounded out of place down a local ritzy. Luckily I had been worried about the clash with Tiesto and Friendly Fires so we went to see them and they were pretty decent. Once it got to 11 and all the outside stages closed down there just didn't seem to be anywhere to go as the Cream tent was closed for a time. There were just crowds of people milling around. Couldn't get into the Swedish House Mafia tent as it was so busy so just wandered around for a bit. Got into Cream once it reopend and David Guetta who I actually had thought might be alright was downright awful and what was with the crowd and the 'Ooo Ooo' chants. Danny Howells came on and the music actually changed for the better but wasn't really main tent peak time music and the tent which was now pretty empty had loads of people just standing chatting. We decided to cut our losses and get the coach back to Manchester at 2am. Party back there was miles better then went to a Techno boat party on the Sunday which was a tenth of the price but ten times more fun.

I've had some of the best days ever at Creamfields but that was just a total bag o shite.

Well i seem to be in the minortity in that i had a hell of a good time!!

Admittedly, i thought the lay out was a little poor. We were in the green campsite, about as far away from the arena as you can get but it was worth it for the music, especially the Saturday. We saw Crookers, Laurent Garnier, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize and Luciano back to back. Don't know why anyone would would have left the Chibuku tent that day. On the Sunday i was a little bit disappointed the we missed 2manydjs but i've seen them before and Brodinski and Deadmau5 were both top notch later on.

All in all, well worth the 5 hour bus journey.

I had a great time, but I still think it could have a been a LOT better... going to all the effort of getting there and having to finish at 11pm is shambolic.

I agree with the other thread that next year it should be moved somewhere we can make more noise!

I'm probably completely on my own here, but I quite like the set up. Go mad for it on the Sat night completely knacker yourself out and then chill/cool down for the Sunday, not worrying that you'll miss acts cos of bein so knackard! (probs me getting an old git lol)

Obviously that isn't gonna make it up for the Sunday day ppl only tho.

There's always Virtual Festivals, Don't Stay In and a few others. Seemed to be more talk last year when it first became 2 days and that's when plenty of people agreed with me and you that the 11 finish on Sunday wasn't that bad

    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
