Quick Camping Question ?

I've been to 8 Leeds Festivals and never had my bag searched, nor have any of my mates.

However, they do search some bags, but they tend to just open the bags, have a little rummage on the top and ask if you have any glass bottles.

What booze are you wanting to conceal?

To be honest, you probably would be fine just carrying them in under your arm. The guys who check the bags are just volunteers and are told to look for gas canisters and glass bottles etc. You'll be fine.

Alternatively, if you're really worried, just pre-mix some vodka and coke, or whatever, in the pop bottle.

hey jonny, they do random searches, or they were last year, opening bags up, asking the person if they have any drugs on them etc

as for alcohol, they would be mainly concerned about glass bottles - I don't think they would do anything if they saw cans, even though you're < 18 , as I said..I think they're looking for glass/drugs

I guess you could always get an arsehole that might be in a bad mood and decide to take it off you, but it's unlikely. I saw a group of 15 year olds who had 5 crates taken off them a couple of years ago, but that was mainly down to the fact they were acting like dickheads on the way in, gave the security guy some lip when he asked to search them.

If you go in when it's busy you'll definitely be alright.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
