What clothes to take!

Hey,

I haven't been to V for many moons and am now back on it this year. My question is probably mega stooopid but I have a mini melt down everytime I think about what to pack, clothes wise- probs cos I'm trying to cater for all weathers. I think last time I went I pretty much lived in wellies, denim skirt and hoody [weather wasn't great] but wondered what you're all planning on taking this year? What are your necessities?

Hmm I'm thinking along the same lines. Sounds good to me! Thanks!

I think anythings 'nickable' to be honest, maybe just don't leave your tent tidy so stuff isn't easy to find and don't take anything really expensive or that you're particularly attached to. Last time I turned some old pairs of jeans into denim skirts and threw them away afterwards cos they were caked in mud and god know's what else!!

No I don't think the thieves are looking for clothes, beer, etc. They are organised gangs who are after your money, they normally hit on a friday night. They basicaly people watch all day and then strike whilst you are asleep/drunk. My son and friends were robbed of all their money last year in Gold, luckily my fella kept all the beer tokens on him.

This info is great thats everyone!

I'm rather worried now (and I know it wasnt mean to scare me), My tent has two seperate bedrooms and I planned to keep my clothes in the other room and keep mine zipped (to keep the spiders out). Not sure what to do for the best really.

It infuriates me that people can be so evil and nick the stuff the rest of us work bloody hard for! - Seem to be beating my keyboard whilst writing that! ha

Remember the messier the tent the less likely they are to theive. If they see a nicely full and packed bag then hey presto they can whip it out the tent easily and thats more stolen than they want. Get everything out your bags.

Ourselves the only valuables we take with us are money, camera, car keys, phone and 1 bankcard. Leave handbags and purses at home and buy one of those moneybelts that can go under your clothes. You'll easily fit the above named items in it and you can keep it on you at all times ;)

I'm taking *this is off the top of my head, will make definate list Wednesday?* some 3/4 length combats, but they can get rolled up to make shorts too. Some shorts with tights/leggings, maybe a skirt, tshirt for each day (and one spare in the car), couple of hoodies and underwear. Feel like I'm forgetting something though!

Last year I bought two tiny padlocks from Tesco for about £2.00, the tent was messy every morning, then I just put the lock on the inner door zip and outer door zip. So dirty robbers couldn't open our tent and I am pretty sure it would put them off trying.

(I am aware they could just slash the door open)

The only problem with using padlocks is that you may give the impression you have something worth stealing!!! These scumbags are canny buggers you know ;) In previous threads there have been posts re: brazen tent slashing, though I think this was pretty rare. They mainly appear to go for drunken youngsters from what i've heard.
