Ok here is a review o the bands i saw at rockness 2009

Friday

The Aliens deleivered not that great a set. good on record but the gig didnt work. 2 \ 5

Theatre Fall (go north tent) it was small but everyone had a good time however it was a bit short. 3 \5

The Flaming Lips were totaly amazing they had a great stage show and Wayne new about working the crowd. The best moment of the set was Yoshimi battles the Pink Robots. 4/5

Saturday

Abigail Grey (Go North tent) A nice start for the band and my day with some very nice multi vocal sing a longs.4\5

Blood Red Shoes were really cool and intimate. There was just loads of jumping and it was very loud. 5\5

Just Jack ugh. 1\5

Frightend Rabbit had a big effect on a crowd who new all the words. It also got everone ready for Biffy Clyro on Sunday. 4\5.Wanted to see Super Furry Animals but couldnt cuz I needed all my energy for the Sun.

Sunday

The Wombats are so energetic! Their catchiness and happiness was doubled, no, quadroupled at Rockness!4\5

Biffy Clyro made a great choice in their setlist and the crowd loved them. would get 5\5 if they hadn't clashed with Placebo.4\5. Mumbles something angry.

Placebo gave it their all despite irritatingly clashing with Biffy and being in a tent but the scissors were annoying. However they did give a great performance. 4/5

Prodigy have an enrergy that they only have. Everbody bounced and screamed till the end. Keith and Maxim both did well as front men even though Maxims "All My People' thing was weird. Breathe was cool!

5/5

I saw The Prodigy @ Rockness then a tiny bit @ Glastonbury, they were doing the 'my f*cking people', 'my warriors' stuff at both gigs which made me realise how much that energetic and 'spontaneous' show is actually choreographed. Kinda spoiled it for me.

I went to see what all the fuss was about at The Flaming Lips and I have never been so bored at a gig. The baloons, confetti etc were better than the music lol. Not taking the piss....just not for me.

Whats wrong with Maxim saying "all my people" etc? Everyone screams when he does that stuff. I personally like it cos im obsessed with The Prodigy but whatever.

    • Very probable. I was a bit surprised by the crowd I saw in the video they drew, and I say that as a big feeder fan. I thought they’d draw a really good sized crowd but it looked rows deep. Chuffed for them though. Still think they’re a great band after all these years.  Rumours at they’re doing a Polythene tour next year too.
    • It sounds like Feeder drew a crowd too big for that stage originally. Given the time period they haven’t appeared at Download as well it's a nostalgia thing. Halestorm vs Feeder wasn't the most ideal but leaving after either to get out would have been sweet at least.
    • You cant see everything unfortunately, it would be Halsey there for me 100%, the last 20/25 of Gorillaz. Halsey would be my non negotiable act on that day myself. Oddly Bleech 9:3 would actually give me an option I wouldn't mind between 3:15pm and Halsey. Dogstar would only likely be a 10 minutes thing of I've seen Keanu lol.
    • I think the tent was just right for Feeder, on that day anyway.   If you had a Biffy-esque day again, or someone of that ilk (maybe Pearl Jam for example), whack them on that main stage. 100%.    As it is, I think feeder will be back and probably high up the second stage or main stage next year or 2028.
    • I think we still have 2 acts to announce each day, maybe one more big name to complete the lineup?   Perhaps the big name is Turnstile on Thursday, which isn't sold out yet. And some other names that could be added like Iceage, Band of Horses or Tomora.
