i caught swine flu at glastonbury

Me thinks my partner may have the onset of a cold!! (which feels to him like it!!) I hope many at the festival didnt come into contact with swineflu? but dare say some did. Its hit the south west region so im carrying hand gel and washing hands regularly. Im not out if I really dont need to be and avoid very busy places if I can which in this day and age is prety hard!!

If it does get to us? then guess we'l just try containe it in our house and keep an eye out for each other BUT, who knows who's carrying this virus.

i think thst i caught it from glasto too.. on tuesday morning i woke up feeling awful, i was like wayy to hot, had a cough, cold, muscle ached..

went to doctor, they said i got a throat infection.. later that day had Diarrhea, massive headache, very very very tired, i would litteraly fall asleep anywhere, anytime. had this for 3 days, no way could it just of been a throat infection.. lol.. anyway, atleast if i did have it, then i wont die if i get it in the winter

Pretty much what I had. Was fine all of glasto. On the Tuesday night I started feeling bad, and had diahorrea. By Wednesday (when I was due to be back at work), woke up feeling awful. Could hardly move, very tired, aching everywhere, headache that wouldn't go away.

Phoned the doc on the Thursday, he said "flu". I mentioned "swine?" - he said "could be but new policy is not to test anyone anymore". Hinted that he thought it was pretty likely. Said "drink lots of fluids, take paracetamol, and rest". Stay off work.

Ended up spending a week off work. After a week still felt rough, but couldn't get a docs appointment (for a sick note), so had to go back to work. Presumed I wasn't contagious any more. Felt better after a few days, but have still got a tickly cough.

An unpleasent business, but at least I didn't get it before Glasto! Maybe I did, and the non-stop booze helped keep it at bay.

I had exactly the same..still feeling tired, slight sore throat now and again and tickly cough! I actually hope it was Swine Flu cos im asthmatic and I dont want it in the Autumn when it starts mutating!

I've been looking at the HPA guidelines again today, and I'm a little confused about the Tamiflu guidelines, even with a bit of knowledge. I discussed them with one of my partners, and we remain confused.

There is definately no case for giving contacts Tamiflu now.

Giving people with suspected 'flu Tamiflu is not so clear cut, and it seems that it basically comes down to how unwell they are. Full on 'flu symptoms warrant treatment, cold like symptoms don't. Problem is there is clearly a grey area between the two, and index for treating is complicated furthur by other risk factors.

Changes not a lot really, we are all going to be exposed eventually, some will get sicker than others, and a few will get very sick.

I'm on leave at the mo, but following a trip to London for a meeting on Tuesday I now have the following symptoms:

Headache, Fever, Aches, Chills, Sore throat.

I've had far worse so if this Swine Flu it is definately mild. Though I do have the constitution of an ox, not had a days sick leave in six years. In fact the only absences in the last ten years have been through Rugby injuries (breaks, etc).

Hopefully it will be through my system by Monday so I can go back to work.

I heard it takes 3 days to get the results from a swab test for swine flu.

Feeling much better this morning, runny nose and very mild headache are the only symptoms left. TBH was pretty rough yesterday, spent most of the day in bed. The inbruprofen / paracetamol cocktail works well though. Question is, was this season flu o H1N1? NHS Direct said go to the GPs, GP said stay at home....

Yeah I think it probably does but her GP didn't seem too bothered! I'm not too sure what to do really. I think I'm meant to just carry on as normal

I think I got it mildly after being at Glade. Comedowns dont feel like this I know! Not sure but I certainly have been very sick for the past 24 hours. Quite a few bodlings caught it there apparently.

We've had so many people come to A&E with suspected & confirmed swine flu & it's a right palava & we end up sending them home anyway.

The novelty of dressing up like a doctor in a surgical mask is wearing thin!

I had it all this week. I found about 2 days of it absolutely awful. I have quite a good immune system so don't really get ill so it was a shock. Didn't bother with the tamiflu stuff though as I've read mixed things on it. I've just been left with a nasty cough and achy lungs. mmmm

started feeling bad sunday night, felt horrible monday and tuesday and most of wednesday, could not get out of bed.

got tested on wednesday, found out on thurday and then went to greece

overall it wasnt that bad. well it was for 2 days, but not as bad as how its hyped up in the media.

Also the doctor said there were quite a few cases reported at Glasto and even more coming home like me.
