I ordered an NME review from the festival, paid £4 for the privilege of having it delivered to my house, but it hasn't arrived yet. Has anyone else ordered one and has it turned up yet?

heard that the NME are not doing a glasto issue this year due to Jackson dying...

on my desk I have this week's NME, which is a "Jackson Tribute Special" (which is funny cos they'd have never featured him if he were still alive), as well as including a "24 page Glasto 2009 review inside".

And of course it's up to NME's normal quality. The bit I particularly like is the big pic of Arcadia under the heading "Shangri-La". ;)

This mag will shortly be recycled for it's proper use. It is a bit tough on your arse tho. ;)

But have they printed the aerial photo the right way round this year and is it any good tho ;) That's all that *really* matters after all ! Don't want to have to even touch the poxy NME thing unless there's a decent aerial piccy lurking somewhere within ;)

shame it's chopped off a good part of the site then - thus making it not a decent aerial pic.

Just had incoming from Mr.Q  Yayyyy !!! that was a bit quicker than expected :D Pity the aerial piccy is only like half a piccy even tho it is huge mind you. Taken looking towards the Pyramid, it only covers the area kinda between the farm and Jazzworld B)

Was surprised NME where disappointed with the John Peel compere telling jacko jokes which they deemed inapropriate, well sorry NME my phone as well as my mates where constantly buzzing with jacko jokes. A lot of people seemed to laugh at what the Peel Stage compere said before Jarvis came on stage too

Looking at grafitti around the site not everyone was sad to see him departed.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
