I have looked thro this forum but not spotted a thread for the Whatfest taking place on 17th, 18th and 19th July.

As I am now living closeby I think I will be going on the Friday 17th, mainly want to see Dodgy, they were one of my favourite bands when I was a teenager, Free Peace Sweet was listened to non stop when I was 15 :) Will also be good to her alot of local bands as that seems to be the majority of the line up.

Has anyone been before?

not been before, in fact i think it's only the festivals second year. hoping to make it down on the sunday with a few mates. it's great to have a small festival like that on our doorstep. I hope it is well supported and that it continues to grow over the next few years.

It is handy having a festival so close, traveling there is easy for me, going to Rock Ness this weekend, that will be some trek :P

I've spoke to a few folk at work about this, seems to be quite an interest simply because it is local.

It was, but it was worth it. Left there at 11am but didn't get back to Chester until 10pm. Mainly cos of all the hold ups on the road leaving Inverness. I hate the A9! Weather was great as well, wish I could do it again this weekend.

One of the best weekends I've had, defo on the calendar already for next year.

I'm the same with the cash flow but after the weekend I am now in festival mode!

Was thinking about the Greenman Festival in Wales, been looking at that and fancy it. Just trying to have a look around and seeing what else is on. Don't think I'll be doing any like Leeds or T in the Park tho. Plus I've already sold my T ticket!

What time at night does the headliners normally come on at Whatfest? I'm not sure if will be camping yet so might need to head home on the Friday night.

This little fest was a pretty muddy washout in the end, but we still had fun anyway.

Caught a few great gigs including The Bluetones, Eskimo Smile's last gig, Jessie Rose Trip, Chris Cape and more.

Was there shooting The Targets - I have pics if anyone's interested.

The Mud

The Targets on the Main Stage, Saturday

Good little fest, despite the mud!

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
