Getting in on someone elses ticket

I am really sorry if this has already been discussed before but I couldnt find a particular thread using the search facility.

I bought my tickets along with all our groups way back in the depths of last year. However one of our group is now unable to go. My partners son who is a cash stapped student would love to go and it seems so unfair.

We were thinking of offering him the opportunity to try and get in on the now not required ticket. Obviously it is a high risk strategy and is ripe for dissapointment. But as he hasnt got anything else on at the time he may think it is worth the risk.

I know people did it last year and was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice. My thoughts are:-

What would be the best time to try - busy/quiet

Do they keep the ticket if they stop you and dont let you in

Would the police get involved

Any blagging techniques that have worked

Sun glasses any use

By the way he looks nothing like the guy on the photo

Thanks in advance for any help.

Fantastic. Thanks for all the advice (and non advice which made me smile). Some great info. Thanks also for the PM.

Will defo be doing the letter thing for him to take along as well.

He is a student with no money and really has nothing to loose but loads to gain. Win Win I'd say

Thanx again

Some tips:

First off, confidence, look like you are supposed to be there (this works with me for backstage blagging ), second, preparation: have answers to the questions likely to be asked as mentioned earlier (utility bill is a definate winner to have with the ticket), finally if they suss it: tears!

Trust me, it WILL work. A friend of mine has got into glasto with no ticket at all using nothing more than tears in the last couple of years.

Just to add, fair play to you for helping out your nephew...hope he has a great time:)
