SoCo Social return to the Loch!

After the success of last year, Southern Comfort is announcing its return to the shores of Loch Ness with SoCo Social to add some more party-electro with its classic New Orleans vibe to Rockness!

SoCo Social will showcase the best of the electronic music scene with DJs Mylo, James Murphy & Pat Mahoney (LCD SOUNDSYSTEM), Infadels and Cagedbaby spinning beats from the wheels of steel and LIVE performances from Filthy Dukes, Dub Pistols and one of New Orleans hottest acts Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Having toured the UK for over 2 years with the New Orleans-inspired party that kicks off the weekend bringing legendary talent to intimate venues for free, SoCo Social is more than prepared to bring a dash of this magic back to Rockness Festival.

Pitched in the Nesstival area, the electro-pop-party-mash-up tent will be once again decked out in nu rave meets New Orleans chic, where the city's heritage meets the UK party scene. By day the tent's dancefloor is framed with bespoke wallpaper, a glowstick chandelier, giant decadent mirrors and areas to relax whilst enjoying the famous Loch views. By evening, the late-night tent will be the beacon for the party crowd with projection screens, neon signs and an LED light trail leading out into the surroundings of the Loch. Expect ‘carnival chic' with neon nonsense, glowing beads, bright visuals, and tasty Southern Comfort cocktails, all mixed up with the nu-rave-neon festival atmosphere SoCo Social has become renowned for - ‘let the good times roll!'

MUSIC

Having blitzed his way through London, Manchester and Glasgow on the SoCo Social Mardi Gras tour, Mylo will be dishing out more of the same jaw dropping electro. With the best-selling album ‘Destroy Rock n Roll' and remixes for The Killers, Amy Winehouse, Kylie Minogue and Scissor Sisters under his belt, the flying Scot is the perfect man to take on the mantle of SoCo Social headliner.

New York legends Pat Mahoney and James Murphy, aka LCD Soundsystem, will be driving the electronic disco beats well into the night. Pioneers of the electronic music scene they have produced some of the most seminal music of our generation. Their 2005 self titled album was released to critical acclaim with ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House' one of the biggest tracks of the year entering the UK top 40 and featuring on numerous video games. Since then they have gone on to become one of the most respected acts both for their live and DJ shows.

Injecting some more of the finest electro beats and bumps is Cagedbaby who get the party started late on Friday while Mixmag's hot talent tip for 2009 Herve drops his acidic electronica late on the Sunday. Amongst others, chart toppers and London party starters Filthy Dukes will be showcasing their live sound exclusively for SoCo Social.
