......so what are the odds. this all gets cancelled?

or at least were all wearing masks.

according to the sun (which is a bullsh*t paper in my opinion) 40% of britain will contract swine flu.

There is obviously a chance but incredibly unlikely, as somebody said on the Glastonbury forum.....

.....we have heard it all before and what's happened? Nothing :P never fear, Rockness will be here!

Chances are 40% of us will get it but the chances are 99% of us will feel little or no effects.

We could still get the Beastie Boys look going on! No need for life threatning diseases! :)

The media blow it out of proportion. You know what they were like with this recession.

Just posted on the Glastonbury forum.....

Health sec live briefing just been on news and it was mentioned that they have drawn up plans to limit mass gatherings if this flu situation gets worse.

They say to hope for the best but expect the worst. I suppose the time to think seriously about this flu problem is when Obama goes on live TV and says not to worry - well he has already done that.

I seriously hope this flu thing disapates as if it gets worse there is a very real chance that things like footy matches and music festivals (etc) could be stopped.

Yeah, I know could all be a further government way to scare us into a controlling society, and yeah I know it could also just be a way for the major drug companies to make money - but it could be serious.

Lets hope this thing turns out to be extemely minor and goes away without any disruption or devestation.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
