what is it with people using this term in a derogatory way?

middle class people have always been going to festivals....in 2000 (ish) the kids were into nu-metal!

you never heard the term middle class nu-metal kids!

i'm sure there are middle class indie kids, working class indie kids and upper class indie kids as i'm sure the same applies to punk, metal, pop, jazz, dance etc!

i would say that i am an 'upper working class predominantly indie young man who dabbles with punk, metal and dance and anything else that i like regardless of genre'!

i'm not a P.C person i just find this term a bit weird!

if you want to continue using this term feel free, im just curious!
