Sunday night with a day ticket

So, i've got a day ticket for sunday night and i cannot get home on the train that evening and i wanted to know if there's stuff that i can do in the arena to pass the time til the first train at around 6am. I have no interest in sneaking into campsites etc. I just want to know if there's stuff i can do with only my day ticket to pass the time safely so I can go on the train the next morning. I could drive down but i'd rather not what with everyone trying to get out of the site on sunday night/monday morning and the fact that i'd not be able to drink which is a slight disadvantage really.

There's no sneaking into the campsite. You have to go through the campsite to leave. So why not stick around? If not, go to the Purple Turtle in the town centre.

seriously? you go through the campsite to leave? How the hell do they police the campsites then? That's crazy. I certainly intend to stick around, i want to see what the hell goes on on a sunday night!

Rumour has it they're changing that system around this year for Reading.

For those who know the layout of the place, my guess is that Green gate will be the main entrance for the day trippers. If they're really moving the mainstage, there's no need for the VIP bit to stay where it is, which means that would be where those with day tickets would get in.

And once you're in, if you have a day ticket there's no getting out. Muahahaha.

in short no there is not much to do. The arena stays open a few hours past the headliners - they show a film usually in one of the tents. Outside of that there is very little to do but keep drinking and wander the campsites.

Its a bank holiday sunday so the chances of Purple Turtle being open (whatever it is) will be slim.

On sunday night security have much more to worry about than whether people are meant to be there, you'll be fine staying in the campsite over night.
