Just wondered if anyone knew how much Glastonbury makes and whether ME actually keeps any profits or is it all re-distrubuted or re-invested for the next year?

Not the I begrudge ME a penny - afterall it is the best fest in the world - just curious that's all.

im guessing a majority is re invested for the next year, they prob take a bit to keep the farm going etc and give a chunk to charity

From memory, and probably outdated by now so don't take this as gospel -

Worthy Farm gets paid rental for the land, and ME takes a wage from the festival. Both of these are at below the accepted market rates..

After all expenses (including the above) are covered, large donations are made to the festival charities.

Any profit left over ends up in the hands of the shareholders. I don't know how much this is, but there was a rumour a few years ago that Mean Fiddler or whatever they were called at the time with their 40% stake received about £65,000.

Either way, it's not generally believed to be a huge figure in the context of the festival as a whole or the money given to the charities.

I don't know why but I'm sure I saw somewhere that ME gets £60,000, don't quote me on that however.

I work as part of a team of volunteer stewards from a Bristol children's charity, we staff an internal gate 24x7 for 8 days at the festival. We usually get a donation from GFL of about £2,500, which works out at the minimum wage for the total number of hours that we do and then rounded up a bit.
