According to the line-up on the official site it says The Orb are playing Shangri-La and that Alex Patterson is DJing on the G Stage on the Sunday, but The Orb's official website only mentions Alex DJing. Does anyone know if the Orb are definitely playing live? Thanks.

OOps. My bad. That'll teach me to search properly.

Still, even in that other thread it all seems a little inconclusive. I guess we'll just have to wait and see until more info is released, I'm just hoping they're playing live as it will be fantastic if they are. I've seen the orb all over the place but never managed to catch them at Glastonbury yet, so it should be a bit special if they are.

I saw the Orb headline the other stage (or NME stage as it used to be known) in '92 and'93 I think. THey were both great Glasto moments, but a low key late night performance in Shangri La would be very special me thinks. Looking forward to it already.

My darling, beautiful, gorgeous son has b*ggered my copy of UFOrb (1st CD I ever bought - took a while to come off vinyl) - I went to play it the other day and thought - blimey - I don't remember this dub bit going on so long - it kept jumping back - but by strange coincidence in an almost seemless loop!!

the little sh*t (only kidding - love him really)

I've got a bootleg of The Orb at Glastonbury on cassette somewhere. It's audience recorded and at one point you can hear someone in the crowd say "This is boring, I'm going back to the tent". Brilliant! Amused the hell out of me when I first heard it.

BAD news

"hi stuart

thanks for your email. i believe that alex is djing (i don't look after his dj shows) but as far as i'm concerned, the band are not playing live. unfortunately, some promoters get the orb & alex P mixed up in their ads. i'm sure it's not willfully malicious! i'll take this up with gastonbury and get the ads/website changed.

cheers

This is bad. I plan to start an on-line campaign soon to convince the powers that be to give The Orb that late night slot we thought they were going to get. Watch this space and bump this thread if you want to see The Orb in full live effect.
