  1. Out of upvotes, @clarkete, but yes, this. 👏🏽 Ben
  2. It's a ****ing HIP BAAAAAAAAG! 😤 Ben
  3. We can all dream... Ben (no)
  4. Pleeeeeaaase. He does have an IICON-sized hole before and after the listed Glastonbury date, but you almost feel he'd have two dates on there... Ben
  5. It's pretty much straight-up psytrance, but Thursday nights in the Glade Lounge, now Dome, is where they tend tpo have a few hours of full on trance. And it's great. It's a brilliant change in variety from the more popular dance genres that you'll find in abundance on Fri-Sun nights. Tristan, as said, also Regan playing this year in a new venue. I'm very excited. Ben
  6. Psytrance. Glade Lounge. How many times...?! 🙄 Ben
  7. FFS, I don't want that Robert Hood...! 😄 Ben
  8. With you all the way, tho' we have it on pretty solid authority that Aphex was down to play Arcadia, and then pulled. I fear the dream is fading... Ben
  9. Nope! As said, will have a look at potentials for a meet-up once the full line-up drops. Ben
  10. I just had a look at the 2019 line up. There are a LOT of venues open, you know. I started to make a list to post...and it just got too long! From memory, it was nicely full but not too much so at Randomer on Genosys and then the Glade Lounge was great. I think the issue is how big the names are that the Glade seems to put on the Thursday, compared to the other venues. George Fitzgerald was absolutely ridiculous. Couldn't really move at all to dance. And, with it being so central, close to WH bars etc, Glade is a very attractive location for the first 'proper' night when people don't want to trek too far. Ben
  11. I'll wait for the full line up drop, see how the land lies, and then run it up the flagpole in here. Don't you dare be on shift! Ben
  12. Throw. A. (Several). Sickie(s). Ben
  13. I think you'll find a lot of us will be at the Fjaak set unless something unmissable pulls us elsewhere. Dare I even suggest it...thread set meet up potential? Ben
  14. I'm very much in your camp. With a few exceptions, I always coordinate my plans to see bands all day, non-stop from 1100h - headliners, and will pretty much invariably choose bands I've never seen, or seen only once or twice, over those that I've seen a lot. I'm totally for everyone having the festival they want, but I just don't get it when people get super excited that they're going to see Mik Artistik or Beans on Toast play four or five times at Glastonbury "like I do every year". It's musical anathema to me! Ben
  15. Huge line-up for the Glade, albeit for me, like some in here, not that rich a vein. Saying that, across the two venues so far dropped, I'd look to try to find space for: Glade The Utopia Strong (psych-drone with Steve Davis twiddling knobs...yes please) Maria Chiara Agirò Richard Fearless Dome Tristan, Regan - scratching my Thursday night psytrance itch Klaus Blatter - mental, but some old school acid house would be lovely Christopher Coe - now he could be really good. Hoping he gets a nicely late slot Minor Conflict - in no way E/D, but the harp+bass+drums set-up sounds intriguing Interesting that no drop for the Spaceport etc. It's clear that the Glade is going to be one of the most-changed areas, but I did like that dingy box! Ben
  16. Unfairground might throw up something in that type of style. Ben
  17. "...improvisational acid house meets drone..."? Take my money. Ben
  18. Nah, 'cause the Meat Rack is in continuum with the Downlow, isn't it? In fact, I've just looked at the 2017 map, and although the right hand blob is slightly different in shape to the identically-positioned 2017 Genosys, otherwise the blob-configuration is exactly the same. Conclusion: 2022 Block9 has a whole extra venue compared to 2019: NYCD/MR Genosys IICON ??? So, maybe a return of LU, maybe something totally new. Oh my 😲 Ben
  19. I don't think that is LU on the map, but there certainly seem to be three blobs in Block9 West. The one at the bottom is the Downlow and at the top is the newly positioned Genosys from 2019. So, what is on the right? I guess it could be a return to the 2017 config, pre-IICON. I'd love that, as the only set I went to in the LU was a dubstep one that was not exactly my thing! Client_03 somewhere dark and grimy like that would be fantastic. Ben
  20. That sounds bloody perfect. What a way to finish the first full night. However, where on earth is Platform 23?! Is it a new venue for Shangri-La or have I just previously missed it? Ben
  21. Fuck me. That's about as close to a biblical experience on a dancefloor that I've experienced. Possibly more later. If able. Ben x
  22. @Superunknown - if you're still looking for thoughts about genres/sub-genres, search for Client_03 on Spotify and play the first few 'most popular' tracks on the page - classic sound for electro, but also with some fantastic 303-type acid squelch in there too. Ben
  23. If anyone is like me and bloody loves acid-inflected electro, check out Client_03 on Spotify. He/She/They have gone straight onto the must-see list. (on today's Shangri-La drop) Ben
