  1. As many cans of lager as the man bag can hold

    Camera

    Ckashfinder

    Cash

    Fine Guide/Map/Glasto Guide

    Phone

    Hat

    Sun crean

    Waterproofs

    Jobs a good 'un

  2. I am not fussy so do not want 23 songs. My ideal line up might be something like this (in no particular order!):

    1. Where the streets have no name

    2. I have still haven't found what I am looking for

    3. One tree hill

    4. Pride

    5. Trying to throw you arms around the world

    6. October

    7. New Years Day

    8. Sunday Bloody Sunday

    9. A sort of Homecoming

    10. Unforgettable Fire

    11. All I want is you

    12. Desire

    13. Van Diemens Land

    14. When love comes to town (with BB King obviously)

    15. Miss sarajevo

    16. One

    Encore

    17. With or without you

    18. Running to Stand Still

    19. Bad

    20. 40 (oh yes!)

As you can tell I am an old U2 fan, but bloody hell would that be awesome!!!

  3. Heh I think Neat Little Rows is one of the better songs on the new album!

If we could swap With Love for Powder Blue, and get rid of Open Arms (I loathe this song!) for Grace Under Pressure then I'd be a happy man.

Not gonna happen of course but I can dream..

  4. My guess is they will drop puncture repair for certain, and I think Great Expectations will go too. When I saw them in london a month or so back, the reception to Great Expectations was quite obviously "what is this song?" from the majority of the crowd (people going off to the toilet, starting to chat etc).

I'm convinced the only song from the first 3 albums will be station approach.]

My guess at the set would be:

    The Birds

    Lippy Kids

    With Love

    Mirrorball

    Neat Little Rows

    Grounds for Divorce

The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver

    Open Arms

    Starlings

    Station Approach

    One Day Like This

  5. Thought I bump this thread to see if anyone had any electronics recommendations this year. Highlight last year was again holy f**k who I saw twice, even missed the Germany to watch these. A sensible choice in hindsight! Bloody brilliant they were

Liking Mirrors at the moment, anyone got any other suggestions.........?

  6. my initial thoughts on the lineup were a little negative, but that wouldn't stop me going.

I'm with you on the comment that music moves on and I think that part of the problem is this last year hasn't been a great one for music (or at least not in my opinion). So when they aim to get the best breakthrough acts of the year we get mumford and sons ( ) and tinie tempah (who I might actually enjoy).

So the long and short of it is the line-up might not be the best for me, but thats not the fault of the organisers.

Anyways, my sunday is looking pretty bleak, anyone got any good recommendations?

  8. Seroius dissapointment with the line up. This was going to be the Glasto where i celebrated my 50th birthday and then call it a day, go out on a high. There are more Dj's on that i would like to see than bands, and if i wanted to do that i may as well go to the Glade or global or similar. If i could get a refund on my ticket, i would. Does anyone know if this is possible? I would also consider selling it, at less than cost. :(

  9. If that's what you think, do what I've just done and tweet Emily to let them know. Last year she was saying she didn't bother with the internet much as people are so negative, and she's spent the time since batting away constant "is (act X) playing?" and "when will the line-up be announced" tweets. Seems only fair to share some positivity.

If you like the line-up, let them know

    A real live Eavii

  10. I haven't spotted any threads on these before, but they seem a great band. I have only recently got into them. I love electronic music and these hit the mark big time. They are a cross (in my opinion) between OMD and Delphic. Quite a retro 80s sound

Am I the only person who has listened to them?

Delighted to see them open the West Dance tent on Sunday - they will be great and I would recommend you all to have a listen!!! Hope you enjoy!

    :)

  11. Great line up this year, which is a year, in my opinion, has been a relatively poor year for music generally. I like to see other fest formums to see their views of the Glasto line up each year, and I have never seen such a thumbs up for Glasto this year compared to the other fests. Well done Eavii, there isnt a lot missing from the lineup this year, You were bang on in terms of what music is 'in' this year

Even more, where the hell could you get a line up which includes U2, the Wombles, Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Cliff and Tony Benn at the smme festival. And the Gruffalo!

Cheers to Emily, Michael and the others. I really do love you and your wonderful festival

    Bring on June.......

  12. Does anyone know how to work out which person's refund is being returned? I cannot tell from any of the emails I have sent. Getting a bit paranoid that the right person's ticket was being refunded. I had paid three deposits but only paid two balances because the other person couldnt make it. Dont know why but I want to now make sure the right preson's deposit was refunded. Paranoid!

  14. I think the payments site must now be closed, because just had an email saying one of may mate's deposits (who couldnt make it in the end) was now refunded - £40. Cacked myself initially when I received the email saying deposit returned!!! I assume final resale figures must not be finalised

I have been lucky enough to get tickets every year I have tried. My tips would be

    1. Open as many internet sessions as possible, I usually have about 25 on my desktop at the same time. arrange all the internet sessions (5x5) so you can see the progess of each screen at the same time on your desktop (tile or cascade the screens, cant remember which). As soon as one of the screens says you are in a queue then click on refresh immediatley - do not stay waiting in the queue. Just keep refreshing each screen as soon as the queue message appears until you get to the payment

    2. I alway use Google Chrome, but just in case have internet explorer and firefox open as well (I have managed to get in using Safari from my Ipod Touch before!)

    3. Try from 8.50 am

    4. Don't give up, even when the system says sold out. Keep trying because I have known tickets to be sold after the sold out message has appeared. Have all of you bank details, expiry details, last 3 digits, registration numbers, car park numbers written down. I always get fat fingers at this point in time because I am so nervous/excited so have the details nearby

Good luck to everyone without a ticket!
