  1. Interesting that the TBD guys also picked up on the lack of bands or DJs playing bands late at night too.
  2. Yep, I think we did make a mistake in hindsight trying to go in at that time!
  3. For the first time since 2008 when SL/SEC appeared, this year I didn't have one of the main (Fri-Sun) nights in there......at nearly 42 I'm starting to feel a bit old for it, but when we tried even at 3.30am on the Saturday there was still a big queue so sacked it off. I also agree that unless you are off your chops on class-a's then you feel a bit of the odd one out, on the Sunday I wasn't on anything and just ended up going to bed after EJ as there were no 'band' alternatives for me to enjoy.
  4. On the Friday night this year one of my friends stayed in the South East Corner till 6am then walked back to our camp in Paines via the Stone Circle and the Park (said he wanted the more scenic walk!) As he walked through the Park near the Ribbon tower security came racing past and bundled three guys to the floor all who didn’t have any wristbands on.
  5. Possibly about £450 at the moment. I’m getting married later this year and we want to have children soon after, and whilst I am still free to go to festivals after we’ve had one (fiancé doesn’t do camping festivals but is fine with me going off with my mates and enjoying myself) if the price is too high that may force my hand.
  6. Lil Nas X - saw him as default being there pre EJ - didn’t get it at all tbh!
  7. Saw the last 30 mins or so - probably about time she should retire!
  8. Went back to regroup at about 7.30pm before heading into The Park for Leftfield who were on straight after. Had a couple of drinks and liveners whilst listening to the Pretenders set
  9. Didn’t notice Axl Roses voice being that bad when I was in the crowd!
  10. Listened to them from my camp in Paines!
  11. Yes, Texas was the first one.
  12. Thought they could have shown a better one - ‘Say what you want’ had a lot more crowd interaction.

    COVID

Exactly the same as me. Supposed to be out all day tomorrow at the races for a mates birthday which I think I’m going to have to cancel on unless I drastically improve by tomorrow morning!
  14. Highlights show On in 2 mins!

    COVID

No COVID but I went down with horrible cold on Tuesday evening that has seen me not do much since apart from cough and blow my nose. Had to call sick into work today which looked good after having the previous 6 off and as it stand I’m in no fit state to go in tomorrow either 😔
  16. Me and my mate were chatting to an older guy during Leftfield who was working there - probably wasn’t you (we were 20 ft in front of the Ribbon Tower) but for a split second I thought it could have been!
  17. One year there was a tent next to us (camped nr Pyramid) that people who were staying in a campervan used as a storage tent as they couldn’t be bothered to take camping chairs and blankets back to their van with them at the end of the night.
  18. I think if they were to add more of it on then the prices would need to come down - also none of them are black out which for me is a massive plus of having a F&B tent. tbh I would be more inclined to call it convenience camping rather than glamping!
  19. I’ve not stayed in them but my understanding from friends that do stay in either WV or Sticklinch is that it isn’t glamping it’s pre-erected tents with nothing inside. The benefits are no long trek from car to camp, a shower if you want it and some food stalls. The latter two are also available inside the fence to those like me who camp in standard camping (albeit not on our doorstep)
  20. Was moved back for Rolling Stones I was camped next door in Hawkwell that year and remember it.
  21. Was the same trying to get around the back of the Other stage during The Hives and that was at 1pm on the Friday!
  22. I’m 99.9% sure I saw on one of the documentary’s he said he started the festival as a way of making money as the farming industry wasn’t profitable. Think it was the interview with John Craven from 1970.
  23. It’s 142k punters and 68k artists/crew/volunteers
  24. I always rate 2008 as one of my best Glastonbury’s - think the tickets not selling out until just as the festival started helped as anyone could get a ticket so was more of a mixture of people there.
