    Paul McCartney

I’ve been reminiscing loads about his headline set two years ago and am desperate to watch it in full again! Does anyone have a link to the full video or know if it’s online anywhere?
  2. This did actually happen…
  3. What's behind the strong belief about Royal Blood? Has it been hinted somewhere? Pulp could surely fill that spot? And would also maybe help explain the coloured S5 on Nick's announcement teaser as they're both Sheffield bands?
  4. Agreed! And I think I'm in the prefer the bus camp. Obviously the original Genosys is leaps ahead in production value, but I feel like the look of it also shaped the type of music you were able to play there and tended to mean darker, moodier sets. With IICON being one of the most impressive stages on the whole site and the Downlow to look at right behind you at Genosys I felt the bus leant itself to anything goes sets and much of my favourite stuff I saw all weekend was out the bus and I'm honestly not sure those sets (SASS b4b, OK Williams) would have worked as well out of the original structure.
  5. Just absolutely unreal every night. As good a year for electronic music as I've ever seen at Glastonbury. Pretty much just hit Block9 every night apart from the Sunday where I watched Haai and Job Jobse at San Remo after Kendrick before heading over to The Temple for Batu all of which was fantastic. SASS (peach b2b moxie b2b saoirse b2b shanti celeste) on the Friday was 10/10 insane. Stayed for all 6 hours and the rainbow over the downlow opposite as it ended was just perfect. My Saturday night of a bit of Todd Edwards in the Downlow into OK Williams on Genosys into Pangaea b2b Pariah on IICON into moxie and peach's RnB set in Maceo's was sublime too. Also thought Silver Hayes was improved this year, and really enjoyed dipping into the WOW stage in particular during the days in between acts on the bigger stages. Managed to catch a bit of Chaos in the CBD and then Leon Vynehall in the Sunday daytime before heading to the Pyramid to get a good spot for Kendrick and both were brilliant.
  6. I would catch a big of OK Williams on Genosys before Joy O too
  7. This is great to hear! Is there any more information about this overhaul? The wow stage has probably my favourite line up of any stage but was gonna almost completely avoid it because I found it soulless as others did. Was just gonna head to block9 every night.
  8. Looks like elements of the old Genosys will still be used!

    Secret sets 2022

Anyone reckon there's any chance of a RHCP appearance? Also Primavera made me wonder whether they have anyone set up for secret sets who could also jump in as a headliner if someone has to pull out for Covid. I hope they have some kind of back up plan as was pretty gutted to lose Massive Attack and The Strokes there with no replacements...
  10. NYC Downlow is your best bet but you'll find a fair bit on Genosys Soundsystem and across Silver Hayes and at San Remo too. You should have no problem getting into IICON as it's giant but you might have to queue for a bit initially.
  11. Yeah that will be unreal! And with Joy O before them. And OK Williams on Genosys Soundsytem that night too. Don't see myself leaving those two fields for anything.
  12. Can anyone remind me what the WOW and Sonic stages are like in Silver Hayes? Quite a lot I want to see there but I remember being a bit underwhelmed by the area last time round.
  13. I can only help with the first question but once you're in there's not going to be anyone that stops you from staying overnight.
  14. The fact that Genosys will be back next year suggests funding issue to me. Greedily as Block9 is easily my favourite area on the site I'm hoping the soundsystem bus will be a huge success and they find a way to bring Genosys back and keep the bus next year.
  15. Oh what a shame! But if there's anyone I trust to pull something out of the bag it's Block9. Maybe explains why there's a bit less of the heavier side of stuff on this year's line up as they're catering the Genosys line up to the new stage. Was surprised to see SASS (Moxie, Saoirse, Peach & Shanti Celeste) were on Genosys when it was posted the other day for example but maybe that makes more sense with what they've got planned for this year. Whatever happens I'm sure it'll be great. OK Williams playing Genosys too which will be amazing too I'm sure. And still got the San Remo line up to come too...

    San Remo

Really excited for this, I'm imagining a similar dance are to the last one but getting American Southern motel vibes from that cover photo. Maybe a dive bar with pool tables?
  17. Never done it myself but know a few people who have and as far as I can tell it's just the following: You get access to the hospitality area behind the pyramid/other stages that have its own bars/food places. It's still paid as far I know but no queues usually. And clean toilets. That area also provides you with a really quick cut through between stages which I guess would be pretty useful. I think there's a couple of other hospitality shortcut roads you can use with the wristband too. Also obviously lots of celebrity sitings if that's your thing.. You get access to the hospitality campsite which is by John Peel and I think fairly easy to pitch a tent or two up together regardless of when you arrive and has hot showers and clean toilets.
  18. Amazing - was hoping SASS would make an appearance! Where did you hear this?

    Maceo's

No you're right to be honest and I do know that. And as I said I think it's a great thing that all of you guys who put so much work into making our experience as incredible as it is have some special areas for yourselves. I'm just being greedy but you're right there's more than enough out there for us and if I can't find something to satisfy myself in what's offered that probably says more about me than anything else.

    Maceo's

Does anyone know if there's any way to get into Maceo's if you're not working at block9/the festival. Totally appreciate that there might not be and think it's an amazing aspect/perk of working at the festival that you get access to these special stages and venues after all your hard work but just thought I would ask as Block9 is by far the area of the festival most in line with my music taste and I'm always a bit gutted to miss some of the sets that happen in there. Anyone had any luck? Or is it a definite no-go.
