  1. Lose yourself? Don't miss a thing? Imagine if Eminem and Aerosmith are playing on some crazy new area along with Arcade Fire, Orbital, Arctic Monkeys along with all the other crazy assumptions we love to make??
  2. Buy a few Geek Bar temp vapes (or a greener solution would be to buy a refillable vape stick of some sort and fill with liquid as and when). I switched from cigs to vaping last year and it has scratched the itch ever since (bar the odd couple of cigs). Trouble is finding the liquid that works best for you. Some taste awful and it took me a while to get a reliable flavour and brand. Best to test a few beforehand if you're willing to. P.S There is no taste in the morning and your lungs won't feel (as) damaged
  3. Was just about to start my own. And here it is. You Sir/Madam are an absolute legend
  4. Having lived in Korea for a few years now, I've realised that the Koreans KNOW how to limit a hangover (limit being the key word here, not eliminate). Due to the extreme amount of mid-week boozing that happens here (you MUST arrive at work on time and fresh in the morning) Point 1: Always eat while drinking (in korea, lots of restaurants are open 24hrs for this exact purpose). Time for another round? Buy some soup, someone getting the beers in? chow down on some dried meat. staggering home? pop in to the local convenience store and cook up some instant noodles. All of this can be applied to Glasto Point 2: Hydrate, always Point 3: Buy some of this (Not possible at glasto I know, but this s**t works): Point 4: Ibuprofen before bed Point 5: Evaluate your morning situation and consider more ibuprofen This will be my glasto hangover mitigation plan. In reality, it may end up being: Get wasted Forget above Wake up rough, drink more, deal with it on Tuesday
  5. I'm intrigued about the guys in the background that seem to be camped at 45 degrees! 😂
  6. Ah right! I must be mixing up my years, they do blur into one. I just remember buying a 10-pack of strongbow dark fruits and being very disappointed in myself for not bringing enough real booze (must've been another coach year for me)
  7. I'm sure there were boxes of strongbow etc for sale in 2019. Is no-alcohol a new thing this year?
  8. Today I booked our flight tickets, finalised our campervan, booked a cheeky stopover weekend in Qatar on the way (the 40+ degrees will help with adjusting to the glorious summer temperatures we will experience on the farm), I got my address for CV ticket changed and read every single post on newbie CV attendees. Only thing left to do is grab my sister a ticket in the re-sales (🤞) and this is hotting up to be the best Glasto ever!
  9. I've got a feeling that the Glasto/Seetickets advice relates to changing your address after paying the balance. Not 100% sure on that though. I emailed Seetickets after paying the balance to make sure that my CV tickets and GA tickets were being delivered to the same new address (I changed this during balance payment). Turns out I had to update the CV tickets delivery address seperately
  10. I wish it was a massive road trip! That would be epic! Unfortunately just from the hire depot in London, with a cheeky stop on a mate's drive in Bristol 😆
  11. Thanks guys, this sounds like what I expected but nothing like a bit of first-hand experience to bolster up my confidence. Big tent + Van it is....... 😁
  12. Yeah I'll definitely love it! This will be my 4th Glasto and nth festival. We know what to expect and she's seen the worst-case crowd scenarios, and if it gets too much we'll help her get home safely. Most likely outcome is she will spend a lot more time at camp than we will. Hence the need for that big-ass tent.
  13. Thanks @Lycra, yeah I figured the tent thing will probably be OK after seeing a few photos but I'm just excited and any excuse to chat about it is great right now. Regarding our friend, I would say it's a mild anxiety but given that the campervan field looks a little less claustrophobic we figured it's def the safest bet. I don't think she'd fair very well in the tent fields at peak times and I think headliners at Pyramid is a no-go but we will see. She's keen to try it out, there's always the healing fields.
  14. Originally posted in Chat but realised my error... With all the excitement going on this week, I'm gonna take the opportunity to ask a burning question... How big can our tent be if we are in the campervan field? We have a party of 4 (possibly 5) and 1 campervan pass. Me and my wife will be in the van but our friends (A couple, one of which has never been to a festival before) will be pitching a tent next to the van, due to her anxiety of large crowds and the fact that this will be their first weekend away from their 2yo daughter, we thought it best to make a semi-tranquil area for them if things get too much. I've seen a post from a few years back but just checking to see if anyone has any recent experience 2018/19? They have quite a large tent (3.5m hexagonal) and we have a 7.4x2.1m campervan, we'll be in Campervans East. Any advice on how the stewards will deal with this would be much appreciated. TIA, I'm sooo excited right now
  15. You've got me worried, how can I check this? Paid up yesterday and super excited 😁
