the festival is going to have no choice because everyone they adore is going to be done within 5 years and unless they wanna have coldplay and foo fighters every other year then theyll have to actually be adventurous. emily has had a thing about the industry not creating enough female headliners, well she should just go do it herself. the festival isnt a kingmaker for artists cause it doesnt translate everywhere for everyone. it just ticks a box for some acts and secures them in having a career in the uk mostly.

But its tough to get more buzz than you think about the performances when 99% of anyone interested cant just turn on iPlayer and watch in real time. It was a nice change of pace over the weekend when 6 Music Fest was actually region free on iPlayer. This sh*t aint global unless you allow it to be from the get go. The fest is still gatekeeping on some level even though they shouldnt. You think if Taylor Swift ended up at the fest that the fanbase was going to be cool with being locked out? Hell to the no. The fest and BBC can take advantage of online audiences but seemingly dont want to. Hell, they could make it PPV and people would pay. Seemed obvious when they did the live film despite the hiccups. But they see the demand and could generate more income for themselves. Funds could easily go to the charities. Why turn down millions.

Was never more clear then when I was in the will call line in 22 and just chatting to people about the weekend and who they were interested in seeing. I ring off a bunch of undercard names and they think Im like some guru. Cause its pretty f**king clear that a large portion of the attendees do zero research and just go off hype bullshit instead of finding their own way. I mean this is how it is for the festival now. The experience/bucket list thing is more important. Again, Emily could go off the rails and take lots of risks with the top end of the line up but doesnt want to freak out john doe punter cause the Pyramid doesnt have Elbow at 5pm to satisfy the itch. Book who you want cause its sold out already. Attendees will have to deal with it.

Just as expected. 2 younger acts under 30 headlining and its like the apocalypse for the festival. Be glad Coldplay is even on it or else there is not "big" act on it. edit: above comment with Raye. If she is hyping her up she is either a Pyramid sub or an Other headliner I think. Emily might be going for all female Pyramid subs too.

Charity platinum tickets that got released last minute. And thats the smallest venue the entire tour. It was under 10,000 since the floor was mainly seating. Phoenix last night released a handful of face value tickets a few hours prior.

Your phones work perfectly fine at the festival. You can find people much easier. ban them or make the screens at each stage bigger so you can see the performers if youre standing in the back. Better yet, get better PA's gor each stage so you can hear performers.

I think when everyone has the same 10 acts at the top of the lineup its going ti cause problems. Like i get the regionality and all but why would anyone travel anywhere except for a handful of big fests each summer. It doesnt promote anyone really going elsewhere. And if things were spread out you would not have this over saturation.
