  1. Doesn't apply to any women I know.
  2. GFEL website is now open for those that need to register
  3. Get them on the Pyramid (I've never knowingly heard them, but it's gotta be more interesting than some of the ancient MOR acts that people are suggesting)
  4. We haven't got time to count the pennies Last time I checked you can't eat or drink money, esp when it's 1's and 0's on a server
  5. The dream of continual growth on a planet with finite resources and susceptible to collapse due to human greed is what's killing this planet. As a species we actually deserve what's coming
  6. So we're still counting pennies while the world burns
  7. And here you've just partly illustrated why we are ultimately f**ked.
  8. There's a lot people and governments could do without making their lives more sh*t. For example, go into any pound shop, have a look around and think - how much of that sh*t is actually necessary, how much of it improves anyone's life for more than about 10 seconds? Then think about how it's produced and where it comes from. FFS sake just ban it, people would soon not even notice and I reckon be better off without it. Just one of many examples. The problem is that we've been programmed/conned to think that consumerism = happiness, when actually less can be more.
  9. There's loads of problems with democracy, or at least in the way it's done.
  10. It's dreadful and ranks along with Come on Eileen as two of the most annoying ubiquitous wedding disco tunes.
  11. Nicholas Stern (economist) said this about 15 years ago in the largely ignored Stern report. He also said dealing with the damage caused by ignoring the problem of climate change would cost considerably more than spending now to reduce that damage. Part of the problem with our political system is "short term ism". MP's are only interested in securing the next 5 years.
  12. One for the Klopp haters Quicker to 200 PL league wins than anyone other than Guardiola

Not aware of any of them. There was a kind of Big Brother thing in a caravan in SE corner (Unfairground?) one year.

Good description I like it, but not as good as an old mate of mine who was "forced" to take his teenage daughters (they went to see who the special guests would be). Anyway his comment was along the lines of "was like (what I imagine) watching Bruce Forsyth"

  20. Just maybe the tide is finally turning
  21. There is very little chance of Queen 2.0 ever playing, unless ME stops slaughtering badgers.

Okay I'll have a go, but am likely to fail as it is very hard to describe (I believe @Sawdusty surfer did a better job a while back). Galgon/Hugh/Deano/Henry can ignore this post. It's was the most interactive experience I've ever had a Glastonbury, which immediately sets it apart from most contemporary Glastonbury Festival sets/events/shows. These days there's a much more, almost total feeling of wanting just to be entertained, and little need or willingness to make one's own fun. This was the ultimate in punters "making the show". For those who've been to Shambala think "Shambolympics" on acid (closest recent I can think off). It was so much more than a few upturned old cars. There were also incredible steel tubed dinosaur style sculptures, weird "cars" in a similar style driving round. The whole "event" had a very post apocalyptic "Mad Max" feeling about it. There were several smaller pieces of performance art going on, like the guy who spent the whole night welding steel framed chair together to form some sort of snake like thing and of course the thing, that for some unfathomable reason, totally winds up Galgon - 100'sw of people "drumming" on the cars and sculptures all night. As I said it's very hard to describe.
