wasn't even considering this but got me thinking now! do know a group of people going.
  3. I see yeah, it'll be a bit different this year. we get the coach times the week of the 22nd! I'm dying to know.
  4. great timing!! true. hopefully its not a scorcher on Wednesday 😬 do you remember how long the walk is down to that area?
  5. thanks. I know - I think my clueless group will find me very annoying for want to trek down there...

    Site Map 2023

why don't they ever add the co-op on there? also really can't remember where it was last time
  7. I'm wondering how likely it is to be able to fit in a group of 4 tents in Paines Ground any later than midday on Wednesday. only ever volunteered but can imagine that its very popular, everyones campsites I've been to in the past have been in that general area. (@p.pete those places you mentioned must be around that area but can't see them on the map) we have coach tickets but obviously could be any time of the day! edit: sorry I see them now on the map!
  8. what do you use? thinking I should do this!
  9. good point, think I've just remembered a friend of mine helped attach it to my backpack last year when I'd been carrying it around under my arm... still kind of a camping novice!! will have to test that out soon to make sure I'm remembering right otherwise I want to get a new bag for it. edit: I also remember losing some stuff out of the top of it when I was carrying it on its side, I was actually going down the escalator on the London Underground and loads of the tent pegs fell out as there's no zip. it was stressful to say the least lol
  10. my only issue with the fresh & black tents is the strap on the bag they come in. why. why is it like this.

arriving on the Tuesday to the empty green grass is so so fun! feeling all the excitement rise as the evening goes on and knowing you're there before others is great. (that is the only way I know the festival so I think I will miss that a little this year)
  12. thanks, those look great. although trying to be as light as possible as going by coach and those look to be a bit heavier... but might be worth it. i'll think on it!
  13. Anyone have any sleeping bag recommendations? I've always borrowed one in the past...

last few pages there is chat about Shelter! I think people have managed to drive in before but I'm not sure I think it was under certain circumstances. if you join the FB group might see chat about it from recent years
  15. yeah I will miss the short walk to the campsite/easy set up, easy access to food and Tuesday arrival for sure. but likely I'll be back to volunteering after this year due to the ticket sitch
  16. and me!! I've only done volunteering 2019 and 2022!
  17. cool, hope we get a good slot! great, so do all SEE coaches come to the same gate?
  18. Ah thanks. I'd ideally want a morning coach I think but can't see my whole group wanting to stay overnight in Reading so 3pm would be good in some ways. I'm a little anxious about finding a decent camping spot later on but I haven't really done my research on that enough yet!
  19. Weds Reading coach here! None of my group have been as punters before, only worked, so new to this. We're travelling from London, so don't even know what time I'm hoping for really...

I just did 3 shifts with set times (can leave early sometimes if its quiet or you ask nicely)
  21. great! I was worried cuz it isn't on his tour poster, but I suppose why would it need to be.
  22. I'm wondering if the acts that haven't been announced officially yet are still being asked to keep quiet? but then a lot have self-announced? dunno whether to still hold out hope for someone I love who is touring around Europe around Glastonbury time... (Alex G)

    I was with Shelter in 2019 and 2022, both times I did 3 days x 8 hours.
  24. just to provide a more recent win, it's nothing as major as Glastonbury but I won Field Day VIP tickets in 2017 by retweeting something on twitter from some big brand, can't remember which
