Would think the 4 most likely at this point are Chvrches, Florence, MGMT and Paloma Faith.

Chvrches would be a lazy booking IMO considering they last played in 2016 as a sub. Not madly keen on Paloma but would be happy with MGMT and Florence although I reckon MGMT, if they played, would more likely headline the tent.

Could Tame Impala be in with a shout? Only one date so far and that's Mad Cool which is the same weekend.

Latitude has the worst buildup to announcement date ever.

    No substantial rumours.

    No connections.

    No hints.

I make it my mission to get a contact to help this thread for Latitude festival for 2019...

Hoping that the lack of substantial rumors/hints means they're going to knock it out of the park with their announcement this year. Maybe there is a reason they are being super tight lipped. We usually have a few rumors by this stage in the game I'm sure? I think we're due a belter with the last few years line ups being a bit mediocre. I love the festival and will attend regardless but it would be great to get a solid line up.

Fleetwood Mac on the Sunday maybe? I can dream.

Thanks for the info, do you know when it usually sells out?

I guess it depends who gets announced. I don't think weekend tickets have completely sold out in recent years however with Glasto having a break they could do this year, especially if they have booked a solid line up.

I don't recall any hints about the lineup. I haven't been before and don't know when the announcementsusually are. Hopefully a regular can let us know.

I'd like some news to get excited about.

The announcement usually comes at the beginning of March so a bit of a wait yet!

I've just noticed how MGMT have missed out a convenient gap between the 13th of July to the 17th of July. It says on their page that they will be playing at Spain, Madrid for the Mad Cool Festival on the 12th of July, which is relatively close to the UK! The next confirmed date after that is the 17th of July in Italy, Milano for the Milano Summer Festival Plus, I am pretty positive they haven't played Latitude Festival EVER (unless someone can show me a video or picture of them being there before) so surely this would be the best time for them to debut right?

Yeah I think they could be in the running for this year. Tent headliner/high main stage slot maybe.

Ok, but to point out, they did attend in 2013, the year after their first album, then in 2015, the year after their second album. MAYBE, just maybe, their third album RELAXER (2017) will turn out to have the same results. Plus, I am holding onto all hope they will be there! If not alt-J then I god hope Sigur Ros or Django Django!

You make a good point but Latitude have only ever had one repeat headliner. There is a slim chance I guess but I don't see it.

If you look at alt-J and their dates, they are in Belgium on the 14th of July, and that is a 6 hour and 17 minute drive away from Latitude Festival, so that could VERY likely mean alt-J headline the last day (the 15th of July)

I doubt it, they headlined not too long ago (2015 I think) so cant see them being back again so soon.

Can currently see 3 of Catfish, CHVRCHES, Snow Patrol, Florence and the Machine, Paloma Faith.

Hardly an inspiring bunch when you look at the line up for some of the European festivals taking place around the same time as Latitude.

Obviously I can't categorically rule them out, as I don't know, but there must be a reason why there isn't much crossover between these festivals and latitude esp when there are a lot of acts that fits both demographics.

Personally, I'd put Snow Patrol on the v. Unlikely pile.

Yeah I guess that logic makes sense which is a shame cause there are lots of acts playing both of those that would fit nicely at Latitude.

  10. @Hawky Not convinced that Snow Patrol wont be at Latitude. They're in Spain/Portugal on the 12th (Thursday) and 13th (Friday) at NOS and Mad Cool respectively, gives them plenty of time to get back and play the Sunday. Would be a bit of a boring choice mind and are they actually big enough to headline anymore?

Really hoping we get Jack White as one of the headliners.

Damn. I like Heavenly, but they cancelled my Banana order last year so a bit cautious going through them again. Think they might get the same presses as ATO? https://atorecords.shop.musictoday.com/dept/king-gizzard-amp-the-lizard-wizard--gumboot-soup-pre-order?cp=126_68335_99775

Nah they'll do their own pressing which is usually pretty boring. If you've got the money I'd go for an ATO/Flightless pressing as they look nicer and are more limited. My guess would be that Heavenly will just press it on black wax at some point.

Anybody know a (UK) store to pick up Gumboot on wax? The Aus store do a beaut of red pressing, but I can't justify the price.

You'll probably have to wait for Heavenly to press it if you wanna pick it up in the UK

  13. Can't believe the standing allocation at Brixton has sold out already that's great going. I really wasn't expecting a sell out but surely it will do now, especially with rumors of Pond being the special guests! What an awesome year for the boys.

After having time to digest the fifth and final release I've just about managed to rank them:

    1. Polygondwanaland

    2. Flying Microtonal Banana

    3. Gumboot Soup

    4. Sketches of Brunswick East

    5. Murder of the Universe

How do they line up for you guys?

Can’t see any of those acts doing Latitude at all. Latitude is FR and the other is AEG. Gorillaz announced for a Polish festival in July. I would think there’s every chance they will be at Latitude.

Surely it doesn't make much of a difference? FR could book acts that are playing at AEG events and vice versa unless there is an exclusivity deal which there doesn't seem to be here.

Gorillaz is a good shout though, very viable option!

  15. All of the acts so far on the All Points East line up seem very Latitude. I think they would benefit hugely by making at least some announcements before the start of March like they usually do otherwise people will be spending their money elsewhere for sure this year.

Cant see The National doing it again so soon but Future Islands and The War on Drugs would be great. Really hope Latitude picks them up.
