  1. I know The Murlocs have opened for King Gizzard in the past (maybe in the states?) so I don't think them both being on the bill is out of the question. I'd love to see Flightless curate a day at a festival in the UK with the amount of talent they have on the label.

Also saw them (The Murlocs) at The Bodega in Nottingham on Friday night and they were great. The crowd was really into it as well which was awesome to see... pints flying, crowd surfing. Great little venue too. House beer was £2 a pint, need I say any more.

Absolutely fine. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t buy them on the day of the gig, but still best to be sure of course.

No longer missing a London date. Troxy in September, for some reason.

Yeah saw this, still doesn't rule them out though seeing as it will be a different tour cycle. Maybe I'm just too hopeful!

Edit: Term 'tour cycle' used loosely, seeing as they seem to turn up as and when they want!

is there any chance of them announcing a big sub (i.e vampire weekend)

Seeing as their headlining trio probably cost peanuts in comparison to the last couple of years I'd like to think a big sub isn't totally out of the question. I personally do think they could sub it, the headed up EOTR last year which is a fait bit smaller than Latitude not that it means much.

SO applying really correct logic, if they’re playing the same venue as tame impala, lcd soundsystem and foals

we can confirm that gizz will headline other or sub pyramid

    nice

Imagine the utter confusion hahaha would love to see it though!

I feel as though they only manage to sell out these massive venues because they have such a cult following. Most people I know have no idea who they are but I guarantee most of them are aware of those 3 bands you referred to even if they aren't fans.

  5. So George Ezra is at Neighbourhood, Isle of White and Parklife aswell as Latitude. Hope FR have spent the money they saved on some decent undercard names. Really cheapens it for me, not a special booking at all. Can see Snow Patrol cropping up at a few other UK fests as well.

  6. King Gizzard are releasing new music on Friday so would coincide pretty well with this announcement

Edit: Time zones dictate that their announcement will probably be Thursday evening here.

who do you think are the likely subs because surely Tom Grennan/Loyle Carner etc arent big enough to sub

Was thinking Bloc Party could do it? Either that or headline the tent. Their Silent Alarm anniversary tour runs up to the start of July. With the exception of (maybe) Loyle Carner I think the subs are yet to be announced.

  8. A bit middle of the road for me. Whilst the headliners do nothing for me the undercard is way more appealing than it has been the last few years. Couple that with the fact that there are only 24 music names on the announcement and nothing announced for any of the stages under the BBC music stage I'm feeling confident there is going to be a lot to enjoy. Seems to have gone down a more rock based route than the past couple of years too which is a welcome change.
