  1. Wow, that’s unbelievably satisfying. What great info!

It’s not definitive no, but this forum has a good track record of insider rumours/leaks and a well established user sharing up to date info should definitely be taken seriously. As with any source analysis, it shouldn’t be used in isolation as proof either way, but it’s currently the most up to date and reliable source we have on the whole situation. We may look back in three weeks time and know it was a load of bollocks, but right now it’s certainly something to take seriously.

Aye, it’s definitely doable. There’s just something about someone posting she dropped out, a US rock band is coming in, and then a rumour of GnR that just seems to add up though!

The individual who posted that did seem to have a decent track record and had been posting here for a while. It seemed to be followed by a flurry of rumours around other acts who could be playing so perhaps there were pieces moving in the background and it all ties together. The Emily quote re: having Taylor when she tours was really compelling evidence in favour of, Emily rarely speaks with such certainty on potential acts, but we haven’t had any other specific word that she’s definitely playing. It’s a bit of a toss up really, and I hope we get some clarity either way soon! We’ve been so fixated on “when she tours she’ll play” but perhaps it’s not that simple. Since it seems she’s doing stadia, it’s not a like for like honouring of the 2020 tour. Perhaps she still intends on doing the festival tour but not for this record?

The last rumour we had was that she dropped out, but there’s been nothing since.

Maybe, but I’m sure there will be plenty who have been to the likes of RandL before. Swifties come in all shapes and sizes, I wouldn’t presume that they all hate the idea of camping. There will be many who are Glastonbury virgins more due to the lineup and demo as much as the camping element.

Do people really like think Bad Blood is worse than Look What You Made Me Do? That’s the worst song by a mile in my books.

I do think the smarter Swifties should be cottoning on to the fact that Glastonbury will likely be a cheaper ticket than a front row stadium ticket. The Glastonbury show will feel more special, has no golden circle nonsense and comes with a weekend full of other acts. I hope they don’t put that together, but the value proposition will likely heavily favour Glastonbury!

Yeah I’d be on the same page with the Norton theory if it wasn’t for @ls2408 here! Seems to make sense for the dates to come with all the publicity this week but no reason to doubt the above info.

If there’s any consolation it did sound a tad ropey from Twitter. Perhaps not rehearsed enough. But aye, gutting.

Nothing was going to do that gig favours tbh. Plus, Exile is near the top of Swift fans' wishlist for the upcoming tour. It'd get the biggest reaction of the set I reckon.

I'll be absolutely kicking myself as well, could easily have gone to that gig!

Honestly I'd have the odds quite favourable that she turns up for Exile. Hope so for those going!

Anyway, that sped up a slow and dull afternoon! About time to drive home and add some sweet ass streaming numbers to those records.

Also I really do think @scatteredscreens you should stop sending people separate DMs and just take a break if this is bothering you. I'm not going to engage at all with those messages. I apologise for poking fun at your comments and I'm happy to leave it there.

It's none of this at all, it's entirely besides the point. I just think entering a topic on a forum and saying you find a really pertinent and relevant element of that topic boring is counter productive. There are plenty of topics discussed on this forum that don't interest me, but I don't enter every topic and broadcast that opinion. And there's no element of the chart success discussion here, that I've seen, that is "wow this proves x is soooo much better than y". It's just an interesting (to some) thing to note.

His anger issues seem as large as Midnights week one sales figures!

You're welcome to post about whatever you want, wherever you want, it's just going to make for a shite forum experience when people go in to topics they aren't interested about and say they aren't interested about it.

Imagine coming on to a niche forum about music festivals, entering a sub thread about Taylor Swift, and then having a pop at someone for talking about that acts charts and sales figures? There's the rest of the internet if this doesn't appeal to you 😀

Red is unbelievably close to those two, but it just has slightly more filler. I can’t in good conscience rank a Gary Lightbody ft. on par with 1989 and Folklore 😀

I know that in the era of hot takes, tier lists etc it’s not really on trend to say, but there’s more nuance to judging someone’s work than just plonking something at number 1, and I really think 1989 and Folklore are both her true masterpieces. I don’t think we need to crown one album as the best she’s done, her work is now too varied to lump it all together. I cant separate those two records, they’re both flawless masterpieces and deserve to be considered amongst the very best in their genres.

Absolutely incredible stuff. Read earlier she’s the first person since herself in 2017 to shift a million physical copies in the first week? I think that was the stat, apologies if slightly off! Taylor’s career, creatively, is as good as it’s ever been, but I did think her general popularity had waned ever so slightly and people like Adele were just clear of her in that mega bracket. But here we are, she’s back on top of the world with her TENTH record. Remarkable that she’s managed to get back to, and surpass, her previous heights almost a decade later. Not many acts have done that.

She was pretty funny on Jimmy Fallon. They always seem to have such great chemistry. Not sure I’ve seen a chat show audience go as mental for so long as when she confirmed the tour. Bejewelled is a belter. Feels like the new Gorgeous

I think a part of the success of this album is down to the huge critical success of the Folklore/Evermore era. Through the pandemic Taylor was the artist putting out the best quality work IMO and used the opportunity to really reframe her career. I think that momentum has peaked here, and the promo work on Midnights has been incredible on top. Few if any make an album launch as big an event as Taylor, she’s the master. I think the record being a critical hit has helped keep the streaming numbers strong too. Utter triumph really. I’m actually surprised it’s taken off to this degree though, i didn’t think she’d get back to 1989 levels but here we are!
