Just finished - 8/10 my initial gut reaction. Can't wait to listen in the car on my way home with the sound pumped right up.

Yeah, it's definitely not a bad record. It's still Taylor Swift - the lyrics are sharp, snappy and it's really well produced. I'm sure there will be plenty of debate about the direction, but I'm always happy with something that's fresh and different - she's already done Red, 1989 etc., no need retreading ground.

Funny, I've got the exact opposite take. I think the production on this is absolutely top tier. Some real new directions for Taylor on this album. Feels very fresh.

There's some major zingers in here. Need that vinyl and to sit and comb through the lyrics. People absolutely should adjust their expectations going in, though. It's definitely the most mellow recorded she's done outside of Folklore/Evermore.

I really liked Solar Power but this is already much more memorable after 7 songs. Lyrics are way sharper.

Alright I've buckled. 3 tracks in - it sounds like the album cover. Definite Lorde elements to the production. I like it, but then again I probably would say that. It sounds like the 1989 afterparty.

I'm holding off until tomorrow, but from reading some initial impression like this, it seems there might be something to the Lorde (non Solar Power) comparisons? The description of walking around a city at night is exactly how I see Lorde's first two records, or driving down an empty highway late at night with all the street lights glaring.

I’d be surprised if they go from essentially co writing two albums together to no involvement at all. Suspect he’ll be credited on one track at least.

Honestly the Swift/JA partnership is one of my favourite musical partnerships of all time. Another record with those two working together is fine by me, if it’s bangers or not. Everything they’ve done together has been gold.

To be honest Glastonbury is just about a no go for us next year, so I’m massively rooting for her skipping the festival until 2024, and just grabbing tickets to her tour next year.

Yeah these dates are coming on Friday I’m sure. Hadn’t actually preordered this, it’s my birthday next week and I suspect my partner has pre ordered the vinyl, but just nabbed a cd copy to be safe and get the code. Hopefully gives the best chance but I’m really concerned about this surge pricing nonsense.

Glastonbury is a different kettle of fish to a one off gig, though. Including travel, food, drink and camping gear, we’re now looking at the price of an all inclusive holiday. It may very well sell out in seconds again, but Glastonbury sits in the holiday bracket, not a one off event.

Yikes. Still represents value for money for me, but that’s some increase. Could this be the first year in a long time that tickets take a bit longer to shift? I suspect not, but this is the most likely for the last decade I would think.

I honestly couldn’t handle another new album. Setlist are going to be hard enough as it is! I’d be down for a re-release drop, or maybe just an announcement that she’s got the catalogue back? Does that tweet from the ticketmaster bloke not seal the deal on the tour front though?

Thank you! Yikes, sounds like tour coming then. More nervous than excited at those dates 😂 I’ve got this feeling that it’s going to be another nadir for ticket prices and fucking over fans.
