  1. Strokes and Arcade Fire would be a dream despite the allegations against AF singer, I don't know what's happened with that. Florence can get to fuck, not a fan. But I would understand the booking.
  2. If it is Noel, I can actually see Kasabian subbing him and then both announced together like Stereophonics and James were in December announcement for this past years. Depends how all out they're going with the 10 years event and the fact they're going full festival.
  3. I've convinced myself Capaldi is headlining now, won't be announced until next year though. I think Fatboy will headline Castle, also won't be announced until next year. Leaving 2 Common and 2 Castle Stage headliners. I still think one of these 4 will be Kasabian. Leaving 3 left. I don't think Kasabian are big enough to be the lead act for pre Xmas announcement to sell tickets as Xmas presents so I wonder who it could be. One act I don't think we've seen mentioned who have headlined Reading and IOW, sold out their UK tour which ends Dec 13th, might be a possibility is The Cure. Won't be doing another tour next year I'd imagine, no other fests big enough, might be up for the payday and fits Victorious demographic.
  4. Just seeing J talking in the Tramlines thread saying fests struggling to tie acts down for next year and announcements will be pushed back. I had a look at Victorious announcements from last year. 1st announcement Friday Dec 10th I'd imagine they will announce Friday Dec 9th (my birthday btw, so hope it is!) 2nd announcement was really early Tuesday 8th February! I'd forgotten they did it so early. I imagine with higher prices they will try and go early again next year and stick to this time but also I think last year had a lot to do with having Sam Fender and they announced the same day as the Brit Awards. A quick Google tells me next year's Brit Award is a Saturday night for the first time ever. 11th February. So this might not play so much into Victorious' announcement especially if they don't have any winners or big performers there booked. If you remember V festival always used to announce straight after Brit Awards because they would push artists from there as playing. We all know the lads who started Victorious modelled it after the first 10 years of V before it went to shit. With Superstruct they have the booking power to attract bigger names. Maybe we will get Capaldi after all, his UK tour ends Feb 2nd btw....
  5. Live Nation confirmed only UK performance of 2023. So nothing until 2024 in UK. I expect they'll do mainland Europe, US and Japan dates.
  6. J usually only posts when it's gone to press already
  7. I said page or so again about them doing greatest hits tour and I'd expect them back next year. I think it's been long enough a gap for them to return.
  8. Imagine if they play Victorious as an early special guest. 1pm in the afternoon The Prodigy. 😂
  9. That Prodigy wording is weird, like they're only doing Irish dates and say UK as well? Why would they not do ANY mainland UK dates at all, all summer? Maybe they meant their own shows? It defo needs some clarification.
  10. Last time they headlined Common Stage... I was watching Bloc Party on Castle Stage, it was heaving. I just saw Razorlight are releasing a greatest hits and about to announce a UK tour. I said this a few pages back but I bet they play Victorious next year, probably announced in March/April if they have a tour to sell first.
  11. It was Bristol Sounds I was thinking of. Bloc Party played that and Victorious same year and Noel has played this years Bristol Sounds. Just got a bit mixed up there!
  12. They already did that at Download 2012 though. About 5 songs, Black in reverse then about another 3 songs I think it was. So might not do that again. I think it will be just 2 setlists. Varying on eras both days, not a full album set at all.
  13. Few things, one is there's absolutely very few female artists who could headline a festival like IOW I agree, there's like Adele, but that ain't happening. Last time Pink headlined a similar festival she killed off V Festival for good. It's all well and good waving the flag for this but it won't sell. IOW is clearly aimed at an older audience with a smattering of things for the children (moreso grown up children) As in 50 year olds going with their mid 20s kids kind of thing as family break away together. You will see more safe bets than ever next year and that's fine, it's their business. Stick with what works. Going back to Victorious as mentioned by a few people, they know what works it's a pretty much 50/50 line up of current and 90s Indie and pop. They aren't going to start booking current grime artists or something as a headliner because they know it's not their audience. Victorious strays away from that and it will be their downfall like it was V's when they went too much down the pop route and then tried to start adding in other genres. Victorious took a gamble once and added a rock stage, it was low key acts but some decent stuff there, I watched a couple of acts, it was absolutely dead, no one was interested, it didn't pull in new crowds and the existing punters didn't care. Reading is a festival that has to try and move with the times as its main user base is 16-18 year olds. Not every fest has to do this. I think once it's padded out IOW will look fine it's just a little too pop heavy at the moment. EDIT and no, this wasn't all based at you gfa 🤣 I just couldn't be arsed to multi quote sorry!
  14. Yup, I said the same in the Victorious thread. Think YNot may struggle this year as they don't have same backing of other fests.
  15. Franz played back in 2017 and they subbed the Common Stage, they were really really good and went down really well with the crowd. But Victorious seem to drop bands down the bill when they do repeat bookings. So I don't see them getting a sub slot again, at least on Common Stage, maybe 3rd or even 4th down. But I think they would be a great booking in the special guest early slot to be honest. I'd love them back
  16. They were instant sell outs as well. They've just announced they will be on your again in 2023, but no other details given as to if that means festival circuit, club venues, arenas or the lot
  17. I'm not sure if he's in the Ian Brown, Ashcroft camp who refused to play due to the government guidelines on Covid, not sure if there's ill feelings or burnt bridges there
  18. I was just looking at Superstruct festivals and I hadn't realised they bought Bluedot this year. So they now own in UK and I'll put the apparent capacity with them from a website I sourced this from Victorious 100k, Boardmasters 50k, Tramlines 40k, Kendell Calling 25k, Bluedot 21k, South West Four 20k, Truck 10k. Along with Sziget 95k Hungary, Hideout 15k Croatia, Oya 15k Norway, Flow 10k Finland They also bought last year dance events Mysteryland 60k, Awakenings 70k and Amsterdam Open Air 20k Not to mention they also own Wacken, Elrow, Parookaville, Sonar and Zwarte Cross. It didn't give capacity for those events. I think people tend to forget the finances and booking capacity behind the group now. It's not little Global festivals anymore.
  19. Capaldi Castle headliner? Dude he's huge. I don't even think Victorious could book him the size he is right now, would be Common headliner and nothing but. Noel, Flo and Kasabian are realistic however. I didn't put Flo because I think she might be out of her touring cycle this year, but not 100% on that
  20. Nailed on is Kasabian, ain't no way they ain't playing Victorious this year. Headliner pot though, I admit is very light, you only have to look at Neighbourhood, looks like they've struggled themselves. No idea what is going to go around YNot, Truck, Kendell etc as they're so much smaller than Victorious. I think we might see smaller sized headliners throughout this year. Victorious big pull is the size of the festival, they sell like 7x more tickets than the ones above. Meaning more eyes on who's playing and more room to book someone plus don't forget they're part of the bigger machine now with being owned by Superstruct. It hasn't happened so far, but maybe they get someone bigger who is on their other big name Euro fests. As they haven't been announced yet, thats rather hard to predict. I think from previous headliners at Victorious the only one's that are possible are Noel, Prodigy and Weller, the latter 2 being 2018 and Noel way back in 2016 so its very possible Noel returns now. Other potential headliners, yeah i'd say 1975 are possible, i'd also say Biffy Clyro are possible too. This is because there's nothing else the size of Victorious out there, sometimes its about finding new fans as well as the payday. The one thing Victorious never has is US based headliners, maybe that changes, they've come close before with Beck but it never happened in the end. It will be difficult getting a US headliner unless they're already over touring and doing other fests. Castle stage headliners/early Common stage special guests are even more harder to pick. Although I will say 2 shouts for these who haven't played in ages are Olly Murs and Travis. Expected undercard Tom Grennan, The Proclaimers, Kaiser Chiefs, The Coral, Wet Leg, Nathan Dawe, Heather Small, Razorlight, James Arthur, tons of people ask for him on twitter every year, I expect he will play, what slot I've no idea. Also another one who could play, The Script but what size they are these days I don't know, are they Common headliner? Sub, Castle Headliner? And then there's Snow Patrol. Same for them. Maybe they could be early slot? I really don't know their size anymore. Oh yeah I forgot who i'd been predicting forever. Fatboy Slim, nailed on Castle headliner. I hope not Common headliner anyway.
  21. 2 that I'm gutted about is Human League and Blondie. Biggest shock for me is Courteeners, they've still never played Victorious, yet they're back at IOW again. The rest is like said, this year's Victorious or shit, hell of a lot of pop crap. I'm gunna post in a minute who I expect at Victorious then.
