  1. Regarding QOTSA and that they subbed last time they played. I've seen it mentioned a lot, especially on Reddit, last time they played they subbed so will sub again. It was ELEVEN years ago. The headliners already booked that year were Maiden, Rammstein and Slipknot. They hadn't made the transition from Academy band in UK fully at that point. They've since done 3 successful Arena UK tours and more mainstream albums and success. Any other 'rock' act that does that is headlining Download. They aren't doing a package tour like Slipknot did with Korn, they've virtually sold out an entire UK arena tour with some no name supports. Standing went in an instant. I understand they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they're absolutely big enough. Doesn't matter what slot they're playing at other festivals in Euro
  2. IOW have put up a REALLY strong line up there. I don't understand why Victorious haven't gone for Pet Shop Boys as headliner before and surely they will in the future now. The subs Streets former Victorious headliner (although they never should have been that high) and Simple Minds are strong, but Keane as sub, they weren't even that level in their prime imo. Darkness, Crowded House, Suede, Nothing But Thieves, Blossoms all big acts on the undercard. On a whole, it's not really my cup of tea. Like for Prodigy and Green Day fans there's not a lot else similar to them AT ALL. It's very IOW and middle of the road, which is a shame or I'd have been tempted.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sam Smith booked. Not sure what size he is as not my area of music, main head? Sub? Second stage head?
  4. Just popped in to tell you guys Pulp have been announced for the Superstruct owned Oya festival in Norway in August. Make of that what you will...
  5. I had a look earlier and seems most people were expecting Liam after Victorious had tweeted to him. That hasn't done them any favours at all. I really think Victorious have shot themselves in the foot with not only that tweet but also if they put Mumford and Ben Howard on same time. There's a hell of a lot of younger crowd who will just outright hate both and even older ages, I think it might cause the young uns to get wasted and cause trouble on site. They need to switch Ben Howard to Main and get someone on Castle, I know it's all personal taste and everything, but as this is the 10th year, they haven't promoted it as such and also I feel they've made a real mess of the line up. Can see Saturday selling big for Kasabian with Kaiser Chiefs on the bill too, but reckon rest of the weekend won't be anywhere near as busy as last year was. There's just no acts that are a draw for the younger market imo. Last year had tons.
  6. Plus football season will be back on, never a good thing to compete with, needed to be June or July
  7. Christ. I'm so glad I'm not going this year, I absolutely hate Mumford and Sons. They also single handedly killed off Summer Sundae Festival* *This is a lie.
  8. The local venues in wolves open back up in June this year, so this festival will face even more competition. September will also be a bad time for this. The whole thing just seems poorly planned from the start
  9. If tickets have already sold strong enough I think they'll just go for a weak headliner now, 2 that are possible and never done it before who would fit with the undercard are The Script and Snow Patrol. I can't stress this enough as people think they're holding the name back. They aren't. They don't have anyone booked. Like I said previous page I think someone fell through and then they've been trying to get Pulp. But it ain't happening.
  10. Yeah same, real shame cus I was hoping of doing this this year as a nice cheap one. I'm doing good dude. I've never done bearded, my son and his mom (ex)and all her extended family did it every year in a huge group so kinda left it to be their thing. Good line up this year though.
  11. Tbh they really aren't, Im a huge Prodigy fan and outside of Firestarter, some of breathe and run with the wolves, Maxim did most of the vocals for the group. It will affect them less than most people think.
  12. Victorious only ever book UK acts as headliner. I can't recall them ever not having a UK headliner since Flaming Lips. It's clear they're struggling because it's labelled as TBC not TBA. They don't have anyone. I wonder if they had someone and that act switched to Reading and Leeds due to someone pulling out there. I personally think theyre been trying to work out a deal to get Pulp. It's the same as when Supergrass returned and Victorious and IOW agreed they would play both as the reunion is a short term thing, but I reckon IOW aren't playing ball so they're now giving up on it and trying to find someone else.
  13. I expect the Rudimental DJ set will be just absolutely full of teens off their heads. No thanks. I'll leave them to it. Wonder who the Sunday retro act will be?
  14. Rudimental DJ Set headlining main stage on the Saturday. That's weak as hell. Hate when acts do DJ sets. Elle Eyra is main support by the looks of it. The Selecter are third down. Looks like they've really struggled this year.
  15. Yup. The bigger the fest is getting the worst it gets. It's a real shame, it's basically now V festival back. Except missing the really big headliners. I know the 3 guys who started it wanted it to be a continuation of V but I feel it's gone past what they wanted to do and it's becoming soulless. I honestly think I'm at the point now where I might never come back. Done Victorious since 2015 and it's just nowhere near as fun as it used to be and way more expensive to do, if I was local it would be a no brainer to continue to go. But I'm not, so think I might be done for good.
  16. Friday headliner is The Enemy Announcements throughout next week for rest of the line up I get they're the hometown act but won't get me there for Friday
  17. I wonder if they were trying to have a campsite closer to the site hence the carpark going, the huge area behind common stage where it's bands area they could move that to where the car park was and use the grass area behind as camping. I think this was their plan and it was going to be glamping but sounds like they dropped the idea, at least for this year. Be interesting to see how the festival changes in the coming years. It's so big now they need to adapt some things.
  18. There's a piece on sky news and it confirms Pete Tong is Castle headliner on Friday night. It also says Annie Mac is on Castle Stage Saturday night, I get the feeling the headliner for Castle hasn't been announced yet Saturday.
  19. The craziest thing from the whole Liam thing. Isnt that it seems Victorious has no one booked as headliner. It's not that a fan could possibly have booked Liam as headliner. Its the absolutely, and I mean absolutely crazy thing that happened, that, victorious twitter actually sent a tweet that wasn't a promotional tweet for Victorious like a machine! They actually sent a reply to someone. Yeah it was Liam, but still a reply. I hate that their social media is so shit.
  20. Everyone has their own tastes but for me this is so middle of the road. Blossoms early Friday is huge though. If I was going I'd be happy enough I guess but it's not got me changing my mind and going now. Charlatans and Johnny Marr I'm gutted to miss though.
  21. I looked at who's performing and doesn't look too good for any at Vic tbh Maybe Sam Smith. WHO ARE THE PERFORMERS? Stormzy. Lizzo. Harry Styles. David Guetta, Becky Hill and Ella Henderson. Wet Leg. Cat Burns. Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
  22. I'm just thinking because they're in Europe and the whole allegations against the singer might have opened up an opportunity for Victorious to get them.
  23. Hang on. Did Arcade Fire actually ever get ruled out?
  24. Brits is Saturday, still think they'll be announcing someone who performs or wins from that like V used to
  25. Ian Brown was headlining, because it was his first solo dates in ages going back before the Stone Roses reunion wasn't it? Since he has done that absolutely woefully received solo tour with no backing band and also pissed off a bunch of promoters backing out with his Covid thoughts. His stock has absolutely fell, which is no doubt why he's headlining second stage Friday at Neighborhood. Might want same money offered before to play Victorious again even though they offer him lesser slot and might end up in a stalemate.
