  1. Rule Elton John out then.... (It's a joke for those who have no funny bone)
  2. Doesn't look like we are getting an announcement tomorrow then with the competition closing. Or J would have surely caught wind of it.
  3. That is really poor standon, Bloc Party in the early slot would be pretty cool though at Viccy. I'd love Human League but with them at IOW can't see it.
  4. I'll be honest, I've never heard of little simz outside of this forum. 😂 I just had a listen and nope don't recognise her stuff. Victorious has never had that kind of genre in a big slot, I think if she is booked, will be taking the Anne Marie Castle Headline slot, if she is that big, I mean Becky Hill was third down on Castle this year, is Little Simz bigger than Becky Hill? Becky Hill performed at the Woman's Euro finals. EDIT I know it's not the be all and end all but Little Simz is getting 5m you tube views and Becky Hill is getting near 30m and Anne Marie is in the hundreds of millions, so maybe Little Simz is getting a smaller slot than is being mentioned here. If she's even booked.
  5. Well, we won't know anyway, cus they only announce 1 headliner in first announcement. Maybe a Castle headliner too. Victorious always has a nice mix and I don't think they'll move from that balanced formula
  6. Yeah I just meant as a favour as they're close friends
  7. Prodigy can't headline due to their only outdoor headline UK dates already announced. I think will be Calpaldi, 1975 and one other the way theyre hyping it to the press as their biggest ever and seems they're expanding again. I saw that they haven't put parking on sale yet either, I assume maybe because they might expand into that area? From the conversations seems they're still in planning stages of expanding the site and locals are being hesitant.
  8. When Weller headlined in 2018, he did a one off Arena date in Birmingham on the Friday night then headlined Victorious on the Saturday night. Its hard to say tbh. But he certainly could still headline, it's certainly far enough away to not conflict with Victorious potential goers. I'm surprised Kasabian aren't subbing him though. We certainly won't be getting Primal Scream again though who's subbing him in Manchester.
  9. I completely forgot this was announcing today, Interpol is a great get for them.
  10. YNot will struggle next year I imagine. I saw an interview with one of the lads who runs Victorious and he said that coming out of the pandemic they asked another festival to share an act and they refused. I think this mentality is continuing and YNot is stuck out there without being part of a big booking power behind it. They said they learned a lesson from this and won't forget it. I also think will lead them to be more aggressive with their booking.
  11. Think a lot will announce this week/next week, last pay day before Xmas, I know I keep saying it
  12. They own Victorious, Boardmasters, Tramlines, Truck, South West 4, Kendell Calling, Bluedot in UK Outside the UK they own Wacken, Sziget, Sonar, Hideout, Flow, Oya, Elrow, Parookaville, Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Awakenings, Milkshake, Defcon1, DGTL, STRAF_WERK, Pleinvrees, Amsterdam Open Air, The Gardens of Babylon They probably own a ton more too, they've been buying up festivals non stop past few years
  13. I believe he was charging £2million per show EDIT - But like I've said before it's all relative, size of the event, if he has other options, if he's wanting to do any dates. It's not like things are set in stone. But I believe that was his fee for major festival headline slot before. As Boardmasters is, what, 50k? I would imagine his rate wouldn't be as high.
  14. I just noticed Victorious saying buy your tickets by Friday 2nd December for chance to win backstage passes, premium upgrade, £100 Lidl vouchers etc. I wonder if it's this Friday the first announcement might get made instead then. Pay day for a lot of people, line up just announced, buy by today to get entered into competition? Maybe...
  15. Courteeners are subbing at IOW so they're out.
  16. Truck announces the bulk of their line up, all their headliners. Victorious never does, what I mentioned 20 acts, 1 headliner on common and castle and 1 special guest and lower acts totally do-able. Still think Superstruct will announce something for all their fests before Xmas to try and sell as presents, they would be daft not to
  17. It was Monday 29th November last year bud, so nah it wasn't. There were some 'leeks' going around though. But yeah based on this might be next Monday the 28th November? It is usually the week before Victorious announce. I expect a few fests might announce next week. Payday for Xmas ain't it.
  18. Announcement should be 2 weeks tomorrow yeah based on last year. Last year we got Friday Headliner Stereophonics Friday third down James Saturday sub The Wombats Saturday third down Declan McKenna Saturday Special guest Sugababes Nothing of the big acts for Castle on Saturday and nothing for Common on Sunday Sunday Castle, sub Nothing But Thieves, third Becky Hill, 4th Sophie Ellis Bexter. Then a bunch of lower down acts. I think this year we will get more, I reckon 1 Common headliner and 1 castle headliner and 1 special guest. Then a sub from Common, sub from Castle and a few higher acts.
  19. Was just gunna say, I'd imagine Liam and Flo are out of the running for Victorious, don't think we have ever shared a headliner with Boardmasters, we sometimes share undercard, can't see any of that announced at Viccy tho and Example played this year.
  20. Good shout that, they love a pop act in the afternoon, I remember V booked McFly as second act on main stage around 2010? They were really decent tbh
  21. He charges far too much to be a Castle headliner.
  22. Bands DO go by this logic, the tour manager works with finances and puts together a tour throughout Europe so that it's financially viable. It's all about how long they're staying over for. Lytham was earlier in the summer it was a VERY small European window of one week which was after US dates and then before Australian and then more US dates. They did do more than Lytham, they did 4 shows in Europe in that one week. The Lytham booking happened because they were doing TRNSMT. Now they're coming over next year for late summer, they're going to want to do as many European dates in that window they're over here next time. So yes in order to do shows they may lower their fee, because they will make it up on selling merch at a big event like Victorious. I'm not saying at all they're booked but things like this come into the planning all the time. Noel is already here yes, he's also I believe the most expensive headliner Victorious have ever had. Certainly at that point the fee they paid, I don't believe it's been surpassed. He's far more known as an artist and instantly recognisable. Tell me the last hit single the Strokes had? Are they getting the same coverage Noel would get. You may like the Strokes, hey I like the Strokes, but don't get clouded that it's 2004/2005 still. It's not. They can't command fees they used to, so yes. Noel is absolutely more expensive to book than The Strokes. Because it's all about circumstance, Victorious aren't going to The Strokes and saying we will fly you over from the US and cover all those costs etc. Their tour manager is hitting up agencies and going we are going to be in Europe at this point what's available out there. Meanwhile, Noel is here his agent might look to get him booked or Victorious might approach him but he will vary his fee on the size of the event.
  23. I could see Victorious booking The Strokes, because they do fit the demographic, are nowhere near as big as they used to be, probably within their budget. Arcade Fire I don't feel are as mainstream well known, especially to a lot of the punters that turn up at Victorious. Plus they have the negative allegations against them which certain people who do know them would talk about on socials and then people on socials who had a listen to Neon Bible and go this isn't fucking Anne Marie and all that shite from last year would then kick up a fuss about. Plus I also think they would be a more expensive booking, so I just think Arcade Fire are a complete non starter from Victorious' point of view. I'd much rather Victorious pulled The Strokes out of the bag instead of bringing Noel Gallagher back. They would possibly be cheaper as well, cus if they're over in Europe they try to get as many bookings as possible to make the trip over more financially worthwhile, meanwhile Noel is already here saying gimme £1m. It's probably between Victorious and APE who gets The Strokes, they may want to play to a more commercial crowd though in a view to gaining new fans, more people to buy tracks and tour tickets, you would imagine APE is going to be a crowd already into the Strokes and I guess that will be a conversation between the band and their tour manager. That being said. As I've repeatedly said here before, Victorious just don't book headliners from outside the UK, there's been one, Flaming Lips and that was back in 2015. But sooner or later that policy will have to change as the fest is getting bigger and will run into the trouble V had with repeat bookings.
  24. Are you guys discounting The Strokes due to it being too soon since they last played?
