  1. Going to Warehouse Project on Saturday, but rather annoyingly it turns out most of the stuff I wanted to see is on at the same time and later on. Anybody got any suggestions for stuff I should be checking out? Would be more specific over what type of stuff I’m in to but I’m absolutely crap with genre names when it comes to electronic stuff so… just any suggestions will do!: https://www.thewarehouseproject.com/set-times
  2. They’ve just reformed apparently, but still, that is a very generous slot for them. Must admit they’re a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. They did have at least.. 3 pretty good songs, after all.
  3. Would say APE again but that’s moved to August right? Other than that, surely can only be Latitude?
  4. Dental was joking right? … …right?!
  5. Speak for yourself. Bring back the silly spooky names n’all!
  6. Yeah but he gets his daughter to make yearly lists of ‘his’ favourite songs so he cool.
  7. Actually announced now. Seetickets seemingly put tickets for the Manchester date up a week early:
  8. Yeah, I’ve given it a few more listens over the weekend but each time it finishes I’m just left cold by the whole thing. A few semi-standouts aside, nothing here comes close to touching anything from her last album. Assuming she ends up playing the festival next year, the Pyramid was truly robbed an all-Golden Age set. Gonna be fuming when she doesn’t play Happy & Sad and we get the Spanish cover song that finishes this album for some reason instead.
  9. Yeah it’s not just metal that’s on its arse in the mainstream - rock acts altogether are struggling to make that big jump these days. It’s just more obvious with metal as it’s at the more abrasive end of the spectrum, so much so that it’s impressive that some of the bands who made it back in the day actually did make it. I’m sure guitar bands (and in turn, some semblance of metal) will have its day again at some point, and although we might not get another Metallica or Maiden any time soon, there are still bands making waves in the metal scene, even if they’re not the household names they might’ve been twenty years ago.
  10. Finally got round to seeing Shang-Chi. Don’t think it’ll be bothering my top ten MCU films or anything but it was very enjoyable and a bit of a change up from the usual origin stories. I don’t think they used ‘The Mandarin’ quite to the full potential, but that said, Tony Leung stole the show any time he was on screen. Film had much wider implications for the MCU as a whole as well which I wasn’t expecting so I’m good and hyped for Eternals + the upcoming shows now after What If.. has left me relatively cold.
  11. Everybody who doesn’t like the exact same music as me should lose their jobs.
  12. New album October 29. This whips ass:
  13. Saw that the Pavement Manchester date had sold out on seetickets but were still available on ticketmaster so got my partner to get me them as an early (or late…) Christmas present. Hoping they don’t announce a second one for the Friday…
  14. I’ve never been a fan of Maiden for this exact reason and have always thought they were naff as hell, but decided to give the new one a go after seeing it get a lot of good reviews and… I absolutely love it, and then listened to some more stuff, and loved that too. Now I’m a fan. I’ve become a silly person ☹️ And tbf they were never ever gonna beat Drake. I can’t think of many acts right now who could beat Drake in a chart battle, regardless of his music being absolute dross these days.
  15. Yeah it’s two ginormous headliners, but tbh wouldn’t they want exactly that on their returning year? Huge ‘we’re still the best’ moment from the festival announcing those two as headliners and a big deal for all of those that held on to their tickets for two years. I’m sure something is gonna come along and shit all over this now like the addition of a new Elton date tomorrow, but until then, I’m rolling with it being that trio.
  16. Nah, I’m sticking with it being a now or never type deal for both Macca and Elton and so they’ve got them both. The festival losing two years must’ve put a big crimp in its heritage headliner plans as they’re all closer and closer to approaching retirement so for one year at least I really don’t see it being a problem having two; it certainly wasn’t a problem in 2009 when they took the opportunity of having two old dad rockers headline.
  17. I’m reluctant to go all in and say that’s our trio, especially with Elton’s form of touring locally around Glastonbury quite often, but yeah… I’m inclined to think we might have it nailed down. Two geezers sat behind pianos might seem a bit of a shit pairing for some, especially along with a mopey gal, but that’s a shit hot trio of headliners regardless of what you think of each individual act.
  18. Hmm yeah does seem rather finite. Has BST ever announced a second show after one sold out, and was it announced straight away, or is this the first time it would happen? Other than Pearl Jam I can’t think of another act who got the double treatment.
  19. Were supposed to be headlining(?) the John Peel in 2020 so I imagine they’ll retain that slot if they play, although don’t really see them rehashing the whole Screamadelica thing at Glastonbury (although tbf it’s hardly that far off what they do normally so suppose they might as well).
  20. It’s ace. A more tuneful version of what they were doing on Double Negative. Loving this late career resurgence they’re having.
  21. Surely gotta be coming. They clearly anticipated the high demand if that placeholder date info is true. I’m surprised it sold so quickly, but then I guess FOMO must’ve really set in for a lot of people during the long wait between announcing his previous dates all that time ago and them finally happening.
