  1. In response to the weather questions about last weekend...

Live Nation and The Royal Parks forced to cancel ONE show in Hyde Park tomorrow – The Hit Factory Live

All other Hyde Park events and concerts to go ahead as planned

London, Tuesday 10 July 2012: Live Nation and The Royal Parks have today announced that they have been forced to cancel The Hit Factory Live concert tomorrow (Wednesday 11 July).

Following the severe and unprecedented weather conditions across the country the site was declared unfit this morning to host the concert. The decision was made following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities and the safety advisory group. The safety of our customers, performers and production crew is of utmost importance and the decision was made unanimously. The potential risk to staff and music fans was too great for the event to go ahead.

Live Nation and The Royal Parks sincerely regret the disappointment caused by this cancellation.

John Probyn, Live Nation COO said, “The moment the Wireless Festival ended, we put in place a massive plan to prepare the site for tomorrow. Eight thousand cubic metres of wood chip is currently being put in place and over the past 24hours crews have started to make the site safe for our customers. Despite best efforts time has beaten us, but I want to reassure that Hard Rock Calling concerts with Soundgarden, Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon, plus Madonna on 17 July and the BT London Live Opening Ceremony Celebration concert and the events will go ahead.”

Steve Edwards, Hyde Park manager, said: “Woodchip is being laid on the concert site as part of plans to ensure concert goers can be welcomed back as soon as possible. We are confident that the action being taken will enable Hard Rock Calling and the remainder of the summer concert series to go ahead as planned.’

Ticket purchases made through Ticketmaster and See Tickets will be automatically refunded. For purchases made through all other vendors, please contact your point of purchase.

  2. Because some of the people who continued to comment on it where being complete *insert appropriate swear words* about everything and to Efests and Neil himself. It was causing more hassle than it was worth so it's gone.

Shame really. It's actually a really good festival atmosphere wise. Really. Trust me!

  3. If it was to go ahead who would everyone on here want to see as the 3 headliners?

    Let's be realistic here.

With Reading and Especially Download in the frame who could Soni get?

Iron Maiden are being chucked around as a certainty but who would be they other headliner(s)? Metallica can't save the day again :P

I don't know about everyone else but I'm getting a little sick of these album in full shows so hopefully Maiden don't do that (if they do play...). Unless it really deserves it.

  4. Me and my mate were talking about Soni last night and how good it was last year and how we want to go back if it's on next year.

I suggested that they should (if the event is going ahead) start a limited sale of cheap weekend tickets. Like £100 for the 3 days. And announce a headliner the second they can. This would surely get some interest and some funds in the pot for soni before putting the price back up to the usual ticket price.

I would snap up a ticket at £100 just because I know how good a festival it was. I would say most people that went in 2010 would do the same.

    What do you think?

  5. Metallica were unbelievably good at sonisphere last year. If they done a set like that (more greatest hits plus random classics) rather than a full album set and it was the only gig in europe or something, they would own glastonbury.

I just don't see it happening at all.

  6. I went to loads of festivals before I was 18.

I have never seen anyone get ID'd at the entrance.

Don't act like twats, be drunk or high and you will wander past security and wonder what the hell you were worrying about.

  7. I didn't either until I went on this ride thing at sonisphere last year, We were about 100 feet up and had an amazing view of the whole arena, campsite and knebworth in general. Then we got spun back to earth at a surely unsafe speed <_<

Was really cool and we got to miss all time low so it was win win

So I will try and do it at rock ness and see the sights from above again
