I just can't see Radiohead playing T. Not now.
Maybe if they were doing a greatest hits or a farewell tour but not now.
-
In terms of getting a big reformed band Blur would sort of work.
Played a handful of gigs since reforming. Owe T a full headline set, could be possible although they do change their minds every 5 minutes about playing more gigs or not.
-
Like I originally said the campsites do change so I did give you advice. This info only comes out a few weeks for the festival. I appreciate you wanting to find out about tangerine fields and whatever in advance.
I didn't mean to shoot you down and I didn't expect other people to get pissy about this. All I was saying is there is a huge TITP thread filled with people talking about this year. And asking about next. I was just saying you should've post in there as you probably would have a got a quicker response.
T in the park is a great festival and I hope you enjoy it when the time comes! I might even see you there.
-
Back to the actual festival. Me and my mates were sitting in the pub before hard rock calling talking about T and I posed the question, if you could book the 3 headliners for next year. Who would you book?
-
Well that's a lie.
The reason it was taken down was because of these questions being asked all the time before the festival. There is another thread with loads of people talking about T and I was pointing out this thread wasn't needed, 1. Becuase of that thread and 2. Becuase it's a year away.
I'm sorry if my comment has given you a bad vibe but this whole thread is pointless.
-
The forum was taken down because of people like yourself, asking silly questions a year in advance and adding extra threads when it was completely unnecessary.
-
I have not seen them live.
lIke I said, I probably should. have heard good things about them from a few people. Infact about that TITP set in particular.
If they were to play/headline Rock Ness next year I would go see them and I would definitely not say it was a bad booking. quite the opposite for the festival.
-
Seriously? Is this thread happening a year in advance?
The campsite layout changes almost every year...
But the quiet site is indeed quiet, it's also about a 3 day hike to the arena. (That's where the music is btw)
-
why not? they are excellent. they are this generations Prodigy.
-
I can see Chase and Status headlining with another album... I want to make it very clear I do not want this.
-
In Hyde park now, no Wellies needed. Random spots of mud but nothing bad.
Also no barrier or anything else so go at it!
-
I couldn't afford ATDI tickets either. Shame really.
I got Mark Lanegan tickets for Edinburgh as well, through the HMV reward points. Heard so much good stuff about him thought I would make an efford and go see him.
What should I listen to first?
-
It's looking like they are getting their act together.
On a band related note, I might avoid The Mars Volta after looking at their setlists from the last few days.
They make me sad, was looking forward to them as well

Here is a picture HRC twitter put up earlier:

That is A LOT of woodchips
Shouldn't be too bad come Friday. No wellies for me! (famous last words right there... )

in Sonisphere
Brutal facepalm.

I think Neil should put the T forum back because it's really starting to annoy me filling up the Other UK festival section.
Yes it had it's problems but it's one of the biggest festivals and deserves a place for people to talk about it, someone should just take time and create a huge FAQ thread. I'll help if it stops people asking the same questions and causing the same situation as last week.
Just Neil, dont look at it
-
What time you heading back on the Sunday?
I also can't be bothered with wellies. I'm Scottish, I can survive a couple of nights walking in mud in just normal shoes
-
For me the answer has to be yes.
Living in the central belt of Scotland I have to travel a lot to get to any festival and if Bestival was on the mainland I would have went this year.
The cost of the ferry made the whole thing not worth it even if it sounds amazing.
It really is a shame because I think the line up is brilliant and the whole Bestival experience sounds great.
-
Am really hoping that New Order headline The Other Stage on either Saturday or Friday.
-
Well the Hard Rock Calling Twitter said to bring wellies... I really can't be bothered to bring them on the train but I really cant imagine hyde park to be THAT bad.
We are heading down thursday, get an extra day in london (hotel was cheap enough )
I agree with the ticket comment up there. But I reckon If soundgarden hadn't played download this would have sold much better.
-
The TITP forum was great until about two weeks before the festival.
It got filled with cretins who sounded like they have never been on the internet before. Asking the same questions that have been asked a million times in other threads and then going mental when people told them so...
Just put it back now and get rid of it during July next year
-
Flaming Lips. Please.
Please.
-
I knew it was a joke and I'm not worried but it isn't exactly impossible for them to cancel it.
Anyone else going on Friday and really looking forward to it? I feel like there really isn't a lot of interest in it at all.
Saturday however...
-
We are travelling down from Edinburgh on Thursday. If the soundgarden gig is cancelled becuase of a little mud I will not be pleased.
One of my mates who I'm going with is just back from T in the park, if he survived that Hyde Park should be a breeze!

Yeah, I think at festivals like T in the Park bands know that the crowd just want the hits.
Playing new stuff and experimenting should be left for their own tours it just makes more sense.
That is why Radiohead won't play. As they will want to play their King of Limbs setlist which would go down like a lead balloon at T.
