  1. Lineup 2018

Stereophonics, Catfish and Liam Gallagher headlining every field in the land is peak Brexit.
  2. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

    That just looks fucking amazing.
  3. 2019 Stage Predictions

With a new album that wouldn't seem outrageous. She subbed West Holts on the album she's currently touring though so it would be as it stands. Anyway nobody is saying Latitude headliner is what it takes to sub Glastonbury, just so we're clear - I was just saying that The War on Drugs are big enough that they could've taken a Latitude headline slot. How does an act 'suit Other sub perfectly'? He is great on a massive stage while it's still quite sunny but it's getting a bit chilly? I dunno where I'd have him placed but just seems a bit of a bridge too far. Wouldn't be surprised though, especially if the next album really takes off.
  4. 2019 Stage Predictions

Dunno. Depends if he merits a step up. Re: TWOD; Beck is subbing APE tho, and Fleet Foxes headlined Latitude and are now headlining alongside TWOD at Green Man so I think they could’ve headlined Latitude really. Also (if TWOD stepped up their venues on this tour) you could say similar happened with Tame Impala on Currents; headlined EOTR, didn’t headline Bestival, did some arenas then subbed Glasto. I’m not really married to that prediction but it’s striking me as a possibility as we have been through the likes of Tame Impala, The National, Beck - and to some extent Jack White and Nick Cave at a point - where they aren’t immensely popular artists like the three subs you’ve suggested but they get chosen to do so by the festival. Pretty much why I chose Janelle Monáe and Iggy Pop as subs on my last predo.
  5. 2019 Stage Predictions

Yeah I was just trying to point out James Blake was a bit high on there, not really anything to do with James Bay except the name similarities. Mind you, it doesn’t seem that odd thinking on. I see The War on Drugs have announced a few European shows for winter so I actually could see them playing UK arenas (possibly just the O2) before the year is out. That’s next year’s Saturday conoisseurs Pyramid sub sorted.
  6. 2019 Stage Predictions

Why are Brockhampton fifth down Other lol whose mans is this??? Look pretty legit though. A few too many 2017 repeats however. Plus you have Parquet Courts lower than they played in 2014, and James Blake higher than James Bay. And I don’t think Mura Masa is gonna go from mid-afternoon Sonic to mid-afternoon Pyramid in a couple of years either.
  7. Lineup 2018

Yeah understandable when it’s a special one-off kinda thing but the majority of those acts you listed are gonna be touring again next year, and are gonna be all around Europe as well in what I reckon will be something of a watershed year for people finding their festivals abroad. Besides, even if R+L don’t name them as such, many of the acts are gonna at least be English festival exclusives. Including the headliners, which is commendable in a year where every other festival has one of Stereophonics, The Killers and Liam Gallagher headlining.
  8. Lineup 2018

  9. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

St Vincent playing Edinburgh, Leeds and Cambridge last week of August.
  10. All Points East Festival 2018

Woah okay jobsworth! Nah just playing congrats fella.
  11. My Bloody Valentine

Not an album is it? I think I read it was an EP, which adds up because albums obviously take twenty-odd years. Woulda been an English exclusive at most. Think Glasto will rectify it next year though.
  12. 2019 Stage Predictions

Hmm well - Park aside - the acts look about right even if the placings might be a little off. The Black Keys (though they would be higher) is an interesting shout. They must be due to come back from the wilderness very shortly.
  13. Lovebox 2018

The confirmed members appearing at Lovebox are RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna
  14. Lineup 2018

Hmm it’s three European festivals and then a Canadian one. She played only one or two festivals the year before How Big came out as well so I think, as Matt says, it’s just a brief few shows while she has very little to promote.
  15. Lineup 2018

Huh as if a Truck Festival headliner is subbing Reading and Leeds. And it's not even like a "wow well done Truck on landing that one" sub either.
  16. Download 2018

Suggesting they book Pearl Jam instead of the bands they can actually book is pointless. They've tried, Pearl Jam don't seem interested. I would guess the same is true for Nine Inch Nails as well.
  17. Deep Cut Sets and Old Gold

They should have a Mercury nomination ornament somewhere. Also they have a Meteor Award for Best Irish Album of the Year. U2’s album All That You Can’t Leave Behind won the award two years running and that’s creased me up.
  18. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Oh whaddup I just assumed that Peak Cavern was the name of a venue. That is some wavy shit, and on a Saturday too. Skint tho. edit: and now it's just clicked that Williamson Tunnels in Liverpool isn't a typical music venue either.
  19. 2019 Stage Predictions

Lily Allen is just about certain to play but I think she'll break the streak of Pyramid appearances and play somewhere like early evening Other Stage or John Peel sub, as she does seem to be stepping down and playing smaller events this year.
  20. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

A couple of intimate Jarvis Cocker shows just announced and on sale at 11am today (sixty minutes' time) at the Moth Club and Deaf Institute. Don't know what the shows are but if it's a proper solo gig then that's pretty good going. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/bands.php?b=1460 EDIT: Brighton, Liverpool and Castleton (Derbyshire apparently) as well. Looks as if they're still being added to See.
  21. Bestival 2018 incoming!

    Here you go.
  22. Bestival 2018 incoming!

Just read in an interview with Rob Da Bank that he was trying for Christine and the Queens to headline but she wasn't touring. Be grateful for small mercies, eh?
  23. Deep Cut Sets and Old Gold

This is great. Keep em comin'.
  24. Buying tickets

Pure luck really. Hundreds of thousands miss out on tickets in every sale. All you can do is be prepared on the day and have as many people as you can get trying for you.
  25. Lineup 2018

Heyyy just spotted that former mainstays The Joy Formidable have announced one of their rare visits back to Europe with a Swiss festival the weekend before R+L. Chuck em an early main stage spot on Saturday please.
