The council have lightened up a bit this year in Benicassim. Bars were only open till 1.30 before but its changed to 3.30. Hopefully they extended clubbing hours although the wednesday before the festival start theres supposed to be something huge going down in Oropesa looking at other forums.

hey folks.

just doing some musing (not the alt-prog-rock variety).

right, anyway, fib have told us who is playing at the fib party in madrid on saturday, so i presume?!? that rules them out of beni on the saturday. ie, giving us a bit more of a clue of the lineup for thurs/fri/sunday.

what im also thinking is summercase is the fri/saturday in madrid/barcelona, but does that mean we cant rule out some of the bands playing beni on thurs/sunday? realise it would mean they wouldnt pull the day ticketers to beni who are already going to summercase, but could it happen? i know in previous years we havent seen much overlap, but then they havent been taking place at the same time?

anyway, it might prove a conversation starter if nothing else...

Hi guys, me and my mates have just bought our festival tickets but before we book flights can anyone tell me how late at night you can get in to the campsites? Cheapest flights get us in to Barca at 20:30 so wouldnt get to Beni til about midnight... will we still be able to get into the campsites that late? Thanks!

No, buses don´t run all night. Usually nearer the time there will be a timetable on the FIB website.

As for electric points...yea, i can only assume they are on every campsite...would be a bit stupid if not, right?

well in bonet it's proper brick built toilet/shower blocks that have power points for shavers etc. I've walked through camp fib and they're open air shower things so i'm not sure if they would have shaver points!

mind you i'm saying that without ever camping there!

    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.

    • Chill. There is no chance Sziget will be cancelled by the government. Even the prime minister held a press conference today, where he confirmed this.   Magyar said they do not want to shut down the country or prevent events from taking place. He gave the example that vetoing an event would be like completely cutting off a large consumer’s electricity supply for the organizers. However, just as they have not taken such a measure against large consumers, they have not taken steps to cancel events either. (Magyar did not name a specific event, but he was presumably referring specifically to the Sziget Festival.) At the same time, Péter Magyar stressed that if disruptions occur in the system or the heatwave persists, it could become necessary to postpone or reschedule events (example: some Hungarian football games will probably be held in daylight, moved to a few hours earlier, to save energy), although he believes there is currently little chance of that happening. This is particularly true for events that rely entirely, or largely, on their own energy sources.
