some absolutely honking takes here lol. it's clearly not a revolutionary festival, it's just a really nice time with a diverse and interesting line-up. there's a lot of good more avant-garde and leftfield stuff, as well as a load of acts who aren't "glorified new bands" (i.e. cornelius, bonnie prince billy, mdou moctar, richard dawson, yo la tengo etc.)... as for a lot of the new acts (say blue lake, still house plants, tara clerkin trio) they're certainly not glorified or over hype. it's an non-commercial, unsponsored, anti-corporate festival that hasn't sold itself out. not all of it is to everyone's taste (i personally detest idles and think anyone who likes them is a few pennies short of a pound) but who gives a damn. there's loads of great other sh*t on all weekend. either enjoy the fest or shut up and don't go... -

First Glasto this year (and fairly new to festivals in general). Clueless but very excited! -

some of those clashes (especially Cavalera Vs Tool) are killing me, but after all brilliant line-up, and can't wait to do it for the first time!
