I've just spotted this on FB:

We've got some exciting new additions to the festival this year, including a new real ale pub with a beer garden. But it needs a name and we'd love your help. A free pint at the festival for the winner! Any ideas?

Exciting for beer drinkers?

surely this needs a thread of it's own!

and we suggested It's Peter's Rounds or World Of Many Ale Delights (which could be changed to World Of Many Ale Drinkers/Drunkards/Dribblers/Dancers)

New coffee machine (still Klix, therefore crap) installed but not switched on because they want to do a 'grand unveiling' (I kid you not). Costa inexplicably down. Independent coffee still a long way away. Starbucks it is.

@Cal and Del I wish I could do a mail order effort or just bring it from home but I'm stuck in a ghastly office block (client's) which has no kitchens so there's no way to actually make your own drinks unfortunately. At least, not easily. Thanks for the tip though.

I notice Trump and Bernie won the New Hampshire caucus. Not sure how I feel about this. Trump's a monster but, to be honest, not much worse than his R. compadres (Spanish vocab intended), who are also monsters if truth be told but with less chance of a shot at president so it would probably be preferable for him to get the nomination. Bernie however seems more problematic. Though I think I'd prefer him to be president than Hillary on balance, she's definitely got more chance of actually making it as far as the oval office.

Del feels your pain, and they do nice taster pack ideal for birthday and Christmas you just have to hint very loudly ;)

Trumpet is a bad man and we think is hair in a life form from another planet who has taken over his brain and makes him talk out of his backside! :focus: the sad think is he might win and if he does then we need to start building a rocket to get off this rock

Yes I think most people of world (with the exception of a sizable lump of gun slinging Americans, and some Daily Mail and Express readers) believe Trump to be a very scary twat. Let's hope that if he does become the Republican nomination that enough Americans register to vote to keep him out. Also despite what he says he is clearly a very clever man and hopefully is simply tapping into the American people's fears for his own gain and once in power has no intention of carrying out his own insane hateful rantings. We can hope.

Also, if he does win and win the Presidency the American government system hopefully has processes in place to stop insane decisions going through made by one man. Much like ours and other democracies.

There's too many "hopefully's" in this situation for comfort

I love this rock, so won't be on the Rocket  :):):)  well not yet anyway

Mornings all, and what a sunny, frosty, bitey morning it is! :):)

S.C.; yes, I got mixed up; still adjusting to keeping things in my mind for 25 posts per page rather than the 10 - I'll get there! Glad you liked the pamper evening; the PA's enjoyed themselves too and are looking forward to giving Mrs S.C. their full attention tonight :):)  Another thing which slipped away from me was to ask whether you are touring Iceland or staying in Reykjavik; explorey time or romantic together time (fab destination to celebrate 25th, by the way)... check out Reykjavik Excursions website for huge variety of options if you fancy exploring/adventure etc :):) ..... and take big budget for food! :):)

Fab to hear your plans coming together for Porto, Cal N Del ...just around the corner now; how many days? :):)

We plan to return to Iceland in November and have booked a short break in Rome in May; somewhere on H's list and neither of us have been before (except 2 hours on the tarmac at the airport on a journey back from China when the engine needed a new oil seal fitting). It was hard not to go back to Iceland next month, but we decided another holiday in the lovely hours of half light was what we really wanted, and then next year, go back in time to see the puffins and gannets and do some of the walking excursions. :):)

Glad to hear of stonkingness last night nigenet - excellent! :):)

I like stumperies; there's a nice one at Arundel castle :):) I was sad when I learned that the Giant Chair was been dismantled and burned, but happy that the charcoal is being used for other art projects. That was a very commanding chair! :):)

Pub name, The (Womad) Lion's Arms. anatomically incorrect, but has a ring to it. Or The Floating Pooh, which has nothing to do with anything but I've liked the sound of that name since AA Milne gave it to us. :):)

Will you be taking a hip flask of Malibu Jax? Wondering what to take ourselves this year.. :):)

Sindig0, I'm not following the American scene closely, other than to concur with S.C.'s succinct words, including the rocket. I find I can barely engage with our own stuff now without despair or anger. :):) Do you like pirates or stumperies? :):)

Not heard anything from Jambo; she's Island hopping at the moment; maybe when she's back on the mainland :):)

I have a rubbing - a stele from my first visit to China which is still in its wrapper because I've never lived anywhere with a wall tall enough to hang it. That is the sum total of all my collections.... :):)  H did stamps when he was younger, but left that with parents when he moved on. Now it seems he collects photographic mags and lenses etc.... :):) Glad he collected me! :):)

Happy Thors'day everyone :):)

Ok WOMAD pub name.

"I'm WOMAD Inn" - bit obvious but it made me grin

Or thinking about what is the purpose of WOMAD how about

"Unity" hmmmmmm sounds a bit like a certain Union

"The Joining Hands" now I like that :-)

Or a theme from this forum and one of PGs speeches

WOMADNESS

I don't think he can win. He's like Farage, about 15% of the population will likely agree with him and will vote that way given the chance but there aren't enough crazies out there to substantiate an outright win. Undecided voters are overwhelmingly middle of the road and won't vote for an extremist on either side of the aisle. If he gets the nom. though, the GOP will have to seriously consider running another candidate, which will split the RW vote and kill the party for a generation.

*** I would like to point out that I don't know what I'm talking about. ***

If he does, by some set of unforeseen and disastrous circumstances, become president of the United States, I will rapidly bring forward my yurt-building plans, buy a small plot of land north of the border, move the family, turn off the internet*, throw the TV in a lake and live a pastoral existence growing our own food and making our own clothes. I'm not sure I can live in a world that will have allowed that to happen. However, I expect that world would be turned into an apocalyptic wasteland by the end of his first term anyway.  :suicide:

*I will have to rely on SS contributing to the forum on my behalf. Likely by carrier pigeon.

On a cheerier note, I think this might be the only logical choice for the Womad pub:

S.C., I 'm not sure H would know the difference - would just give the piccies a technical critique! Lens porn wins hands down! :):)

Sindig0, you will know what you're on about, I'm sure! And that just has to be the pub sign; perfect - hope you've tweeted it over to Womad twitter thing! And I'm very sorry, but on account of living in the next yurt along and working on our communal gardens and looms, I won't be able to post for you...... :):)

Lovely fish piccies - I have very little knowledge in that area, so this is all learning for me :):)

Update from Jambo:

"Been back on mainland since yesterday..I left as soon as I could..worst nightmare..small bay filled with boats and banana boats, zillions of day trippers and Chinese tourists..air full of noise and fumes..all day till 5..  And very little swimming because of the traffic..ugh!!!! I rang and rearranged boat back for next day!! Ended up not far from where I was in a wonderful little hotel..grounds amazing..has a Hindu temp,e in the middle of it, Hindu god statues all over the place set in a lush tropical jungle garden and backs onto beach where I had eaten before....bliss!!!! I prefer a beach with people on it laughing, swimming, sitting in family groups to machine noise any day!! Had a chilled couple of days,Smiling face with smiling eyesSmiling face with smiling eyesSmiling face with smiling eyesSmiling face with smiling eyesSmiling face with smiling eyesSmiling face with smiling eyes

Beer garden..now where will all the boys go..

I've heard the Yellow Bass is a fine fish. Especially when it's a tiddler.

Yes Sindig0 the Yellow Bass, is a fine fish whether a tidler or fully grown. In fact my eldest caught one 18 month ago and is still very pleased he did.  He is hoping to catch a bigger fish this summer :)

evening all

it's been a long day for us but Del is now up to Black Sabbath on the cd file transferring and those with a good grasp of the alphabet will have worked out he has passed the Bj file and you may have guessed he has loads of Bj files to move.

The main problem is with compilation cds as the laptop created files for each artist and not one for the whole CD

Del will get there in the end

Didn't know you were such s Billy Joel fan CnD ;)

Can't you just drag n drop or copy your music file rather than doing each cd separately?

Anyway mornings all, weather forecast ain't great but it looks good right now might just wrapup and go fishing for the morning :-)
