When does the site start to lock down?

I visited the farm about a month ago. I loved every second and I had two people with me who did too. One had been to Glastonbury once, the other had never been.

It's a lovely long walk. We enjoyed sitting on the stones, visiting the dragon and also had great fun on the pirate ship slide (that is one hell of a slide!).

I would recommend going. We were staying in Glastonbury village so we drove down to the site and parked up on a random road nearby. When we walked down we asked permission from one of the people working on the farm if it was okay to wander and he said it was fine but make sure we close the gates behind us.

Ive always wandered what the site would be like without all the commotion and the hussle goings on. But its so far away from where i live  A visit would have to part of a trip around the SouthWest if I ever get back there out of Festival time.

Reading this thread also made me remember there was a programme on BBC a few months ago called Glastonbury: The Udder Side, which aired just before the festival started - and thought I would check bbc iplayer to see if it was still on - and it is!!

And even started to watch a bit of it (will catch the rest later) - and the site just looks so unrecognisable !   As it obviously would do I suppose!! 

For some reason, I thought The Wall was a permanent  thing.

It was about 10 years ago now we were on holiday in Devon and on a trip out we drove past the site. On impulse we decided to see if we could have a look around. Couldn't find anybody to ask so saw a light in one of the cottages so knocked on the door to ask if it was ok to have a wander. Turns out it was ME who was in and spent 10 mins chatting and telling the kids to get to the festival. Anyway spent a lovely couple of hours wandering around exploring. As many others have said it's very different to when the festival is on. Other than the permanent bits it's just like any other farm
