I am 17, and going to Reading tomorrow with 3 other 17 year olds... We want to take alcohol into the campsite, how stringent are they with bag searches, ID etc? I.e. if I strolled through with a crate of Fosters looking confident, would I get stopped - I mean I don't look young.

Good question glent002, I too, being 17, was a little worried about this as they seem strictish when going through the Guest Richfield Avenue entrance. I have some Vodka and a box of Strongbow DarkFruit so hopefully things should be alright. Would just be a massive pain if confiscated.

In fact I might make a decoy stash to be ultra sure.

Tip - if you don't want to look underage, don't carry flavoured cider. A hairy-arsed 30-something could get away with it but for someone already borderline it's a bit of a giveaway.
