Only when it suits............................. And oddly they think that vegans farts create more bad gases than flying! Almost like they think meat eaters do not fart. -

You cannot compare votes in by-elections to general elections................... unless a while later it suits you to do it just as I said when you questioned me on it. Hopefully this is enough for you to know what I said was true 🙂 -

That bar was probably The World Cup Bar, run by Roy, Aka Weird Beard, and was a precursor to Lost Vagueness. I don't remember that much about it except that on the bar he had made one of the games which had a bent piece of wire and you have to move a loop of wire along it without the loop touching it or it would set a loud buzzer off. -

I read A Book Of Jobs by Will Carruthers (the bassist in Spacemen 3 and then the first incarnation of Spiritualized, and he toured and recorded with a lot of other bands too) a while ago and there is a fantastic chapter recounting one of his Glastonbury experiences, working on a food stall poaching eggs at the 1997 festival before getting distinctly psychedelic towards the end. It's a great read so figured I'd share it here for those with the common interest. I've trimmed the PDF down to just that chapter and stuck it here: https://www.vintageapplemac.com/files/misc/Glastonbury Fayre by Will Carruthers.pdf It really is a good read, captures a lot of the madness of the festival. Will is an excellent writer, his book Playing The Bass With Three Left Hands is the best music bio I've ever read, and his earlier effort A Book of Jobs is great, too (available to buy via his website for a fiver btw). Even if you've got no interest in the bands he was in, these are still excellent books and well worth your time. They paint an exceptionally bleak picture of the life and tribulations of aspiring musicians... Here's a little snippet to whet your appetite describing the first opening of the heavens at that notoriously wet festival: -
